Anniversary of the IPR of Placetas

NEW HEAVENS AND A NEW EARTH

2 Peter 3:10-16

But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

2 Peter 3:13 (NRSV)

“All the Lord’s Promises” is a beautiful hymn we sing during our worship services. One of its verses says: “All His promises to the faithful, the Lord in His goodness will fulfill.” In this spirit, let us understand that God’s chosen people wait for His promises, and all of them will be fulfilled. God never lies; there is no deceit in Him; He is always good, faithful, and true. Waiting for the fulfillment of these promises can cause our souls to despair.

We are impatient because of so much evil, disease, war, violence, suffering, and death, it seems as though they will never end; but all these tribulations are temporary; soon we will see the new heavens and the new earth. God will reign in fullness, and righteousness will dwell; all evil will be eradicated and give way to pure love, which we will enjoy without reserve. Our greatest dream is to be able to live this moment, but we are called to act with complete righteousness today, not to leave everything for tomorrow. Today, this world can be different thanks to your contribution.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your promises; we know they will be fulfilled according to Your will. You are faithful and true, and that is why we have peace in our hearts and do not fear. Bring about the new heaven and the new earth; Your righteousness will dwell there, and we will be eternally happy. As we await the fulfillment of Your Kingdom, O God, may our faith never falter. In Jesus’ name, amen.

CIELOS NUEVOS Y TIERRA NUEVA

2 Pedro 3:10-16

Pero nosotros esperamos, según sus promesas, cielos nuevos y tierra nueva, en los cuales mora la justicia

2 Pedro 3:13

“Todas las promesas del Señor”, es un himno hermoso que cantamos en nuestros servicios de adoración. Una de sus estrofas dice: todas sus promesas para el hombre fiel, el Señor en sus bondades cumplirá. En este espíritu, entendamos que el pueblo escogido de Dios espera en sus promesas, todas se cumplirán. Dios nunca miente, en Él no hay engaño, siempre bueno, fiel y cumplidor. La espera del cumplimiento de estas promesas puede hacer que nuestra alma se desespere.

Estamos impacientes a causa de tanto mal, de las enfermedades, guerras, violencia, sufrimiento, muerte, parece que nunca terminarán; pero todas estas tribulaciones son pasajeras, pronto veremos los cielos nuevos y la tierra nueva. Dios reinará con plenitud y morará la justicia, todos los males se erradicarán y darán paso a un amor puro, que disfrutaremos sin reservas. Nuestro mayor sueño es poder vivir este momento, pero estamos llamados a obrar con toda justicia hoy, no dejarlo todo al mañana, hoy este mundo puede ser diferente gracias a tu aportación.

Oración: Señor, gracias por tus promesas, sabemos que se cumplirán según tus designios, Tú eres fiel y verdadero, por eso tenemos paz en nuestros corazones y no tememos. Haz realidad el cielo nuevo y la tierra nueva, tu justicia morará y seremos eternamente felices. Mientras esperamos la consumación de tu Reino, permite oh Dios que nuestra fe no desfallezca.
