BUT GROW IN GRACE
2 PETER 3:17-18
Grow in the grace and
knowledge of our Lord.
2 Peter 3:18
It says in the Bible that faith should grow in abundance, in constancy
and in love. It is important that our love become more intense, and especially,
more practical; that it may influence each of our thoughts, our words, and our
works. Another important element is to
grow in humility; and with the assistance of the Holy Spirit, we should grow in
the knowledge of our Lord and Savior. Those who do not grow in the knowledge of
Jesus refuse to be blessed, since knowing him constitutes eternal life and progression
in the knowledge that becomes happiness.
If you don’t wish to know him more deeply, then you don’t love him,
because love always exclaims: “closer and ever closer.” Don’t remain satisfied
without a growing knowledge of humility, in his work, in his death, in his
resurrection, in his glorious intercession, and in his future return.
An increase of love toward Jesus and a better understanding of his love
for us is one of the best tests of growth in grace.
Prayer: Lord, in our daily living, may we always feel
the imperious necessity of being beneath your grace, in order to be worthy of
it. Amen.

en la gracia y el conocimiento de nuestro Señor

En la Biblia se dice que la fe debe crecer en
plenitud, en constancia y en amor. Es importante que nuestro amor sea más
intenso y sobre todo más práctico, que influya en cada pensamiento, palabra y
obra que hacemos. Otro elemento importante es crecer en humildad y ayudados por
el Espíritu Santo debemos crecer en el conocimiento de nuestro Señor y
Salvador. Quien no crece en el conocimiento de Jesús rehúsa ser bendecido, ya
que conocerle constituye la vida eterna y es progresar en el conocimiento que
se vuelve felicidad.
Si no deseas conocerle mejor entonces no le amas,
pues el amor siempre exclama: cerca más cerca. No descanses satisfecho sin un
creciente conocimiento de humildad, en su obra, en su muerte, en su
resurrección, en su gloriosa intercesión y en su futura venida.
Un aumento de amor hacia Jesús y una mejor
comprensión de su amor para con nosotros, es una de las mejores pruebas de
crecimiento en la gracia.
Oración: Señor, permite que en nuestro diario
vivir siempre sintamos la necesidad imperiosa de estar bajo tu gracia, para ser
merecedores de ella. Amén.
