THE HEALING WORD GRABS US
JOHN 15:1-17
Hold on to the pattern of sound teaching that
you heard from me
with
the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.
2 Timothy 1:13 (CEB)
There is a story about a man who, sailing a boat, fell suddenly into the sea.
The man almost perished by drowning. Later, at the telling of his bitter
experience, he said: “Water is something unique. It has nothing to grab
onto.”
Often our experience is like this man’s experience. We live as if we have fallen in the middle of
the ocean with nothing to grab onto. Our
ocean can be the ocean of bitterness, the ocean of suffering, the ocean of
discouragement, or the ocean of apathy. Nevertheless, our life of faith teaches
us that there is always a strong hand that can rescue us amid the agony. How? Well:
grabbing onto the healing Word of our
God in the faith and love that is Jesus Christ. These were the words of the Apostle Paul to
Timothy. The Apostle knew that there was
no counsel more sensible for the young man who began the Christian ministry than
to grab powerfully to the Word of the Lord.
Only in this way would he remain untouched and could make his ministry the
most effective means to build the kingdom of God. All of us Christians have a victorious
ministry to perform. Are you doing
yours?
Prayer: Our Lord, we wish to serve
you with all our hearts. Allow us to serve
you so that we can faithfully interpret your Word with the example of our
lives, and may others be able to see in us a great and merciful God. Through Jesus Christ, our helper, Amen.

ASIRNOS DE LA SANA PALABRA
JUAN 15:1-17
Retén la forma de las sanas palabras
que de mí oíste,
en la fe y amor que es en Cristo Jesús
2 Timoteo 1:13
Se cuenta de un hombre que, navegando en un barco, cayó
de pronto al mar. El hombre casi perece ahogado. Más tarde, al contar su amarga
experiencia decía: “El agua es algo singular. No tiene uno de qué agarrarse.”
A menudo la experiencia nuestra es igual a la de
este hombre. Vivimos como quien ha caído en medio del océano sin tener nada de
qué asirnos. Nuestro océano puede ser el de la amargura, del sufrimiento, del
desaliento, o de la apatía. Sin embargo, nuestra vida de fe nos enseña que
siempre hay una mano fuerte que en medio de la agonía nos puede rescatar.
¿Cómo? Pues: reteniendo la sana Palabra de nuestro Dios en la fe y
amor que es Cristo Jesús. Esas fueron las palabras del Apóstol Pablo a
Timoteo. Sabía el Apóstol que no había consejo más sensato para un joven que se
iniciaba al Ministerio cristiano que asirse fuertemente a la Palabra del Señor.
Sólo así podría permanecer incólume y hacer de su Ministerio el medio más
eficaz para ayudar a construir el Reino de Dios. Todos los cristianos tenemos
un ministerio victorioso que desempeñar ¿lo está siendo el tuyo?
Oración: Nuestro Señor,
deseamos servirte de todo corazón. Permite que al hacerlo podamos interpretar
fielmente tu Palabra con el ejemplo de nuestras vidas, y que otros puedan ver
en nosotros a un Dios grande y de misericordia. Por Jesucristo, nuestro ayudador,
amén.
