FACED WITH TEMPTATIONS

1 CORINTHIANS 10:11-15

Because he himself was tested by what he suffered,

he is able to help those who are being tested.

Hebrews 2:18 (NRSV)

            After a difficult day in which I was beset by various temptations, I understood that despite feeling that I couldn’t overcome them, I was able to do so. I understood that God’s own self in the person of his son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, was working in me, sustaining me during those trials whenever I allowed it and aligned my will with it. If we remain in God, God will remain in us. Only in this way can we understand the greatness of God’s will in allowing us to be a part of the Kingdom.

            Many are the situations that confront us daily and which could turn us from God’s ways: lies, violence, manipulations, envy, and so on. Let’s ask to be illuminated by God’s light so that we may order our steps in the manner of Jesus. God allows us to choose our fate, but always seeks to lead us to freedom in Christ.

            It is important to follow him.

Prayer: Lord, help us to live in you and to overcome our daily temptations. We pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

ANTE LAS TENTACIONES

1 CORINTIOS 10:11-15

Pues en cuanto él mismo padeció siendo tentado,

es poderoso para socorrer a los que son tentados.

Hebreos 2:18

Después de un día difícil, en que me acosaron varias tentaciones, comprendí que, a pesar de que me parecía imposible vencerlas, estaba capacitado para hacerlo.

Comprendí que Dios mismo, en la persona de su Hijo Jesucristo, y el Espíritu Santo, obraban en mi interior, sosteniéndome durante esas pruebas, siempre que yo lo permitiera y dispusiera mi voluntad a ello.

Si nosotros permanecemos en Dios, Él permanece en nosotros. Sólo así podemos comprender la grandeza de su voluntad en permitirnos formar parte de su Reino.

Son muchas las situaciones que se nos presentan cada día y que pudieran alejarnos de los caminos de Dios: mentiras, violencias, manipulaciones, envidias, etc. Pidamos ser iluminados por la luz de Dios para conducir nuestros pasos a la manera de Jesús.

Dios nos permite elegir nuestro destino, pero siempre busca conducirnos a la libertad en Cristo. Lo importante es seguirlo.

Oración: Señor, ayúdanos a vivir en ti y a sobrellevar las tentaciones que se nos presentan cada día. Te lo pedimos por Jesús, amén.
