EVERYBODY’S GOD

ZEPHANIAH 3:14-20

The Lord your God is with you, the mighty warrior who saves.

He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you,

but will rejoice over you with singing.

Zephaniah 3:17 (NIV)

Zephaniah is the prophet of the poor. He invites the people to sing for joy because the Day of the Lord has arrived. At last, God is the only one who governs, who does good, liberates us, and finds justice for all the word’s poor. God overturns the oppressors who do not listen to him, do not repent, and deal with the people unjustly.

Sing to the Lord, the poor of the earth, those who seek justice and love peace, those who seek to do his will. Sing to the Lord with joy because he rules in the midst of his people! We don’t disown God nor fear him because he is in our midst, sings with us, is happy with us, and celebrates with us. He changes our luck and gives us a new life. God’s presence in his people brings justice, peace, and truth for all who follow him. He is the God of the poor, the peacemakers, those who do justice. May all invoke his name! May all serve him!

Prayer: Eternal and powerful God, at the end of this quarter we pray for all those who hunger and thirst for justice, for all those who suffer, and those who seek your mercy. Amen.

EL DIOS DE TODOS Y TODAS

SOFONÍAS 3:14-20

El Señor tu Dios está en medio de ti; ¡él es poderoso

y te salvará! El Señor estará contento de ti. Con su amor

te dará nueva vida; en su alegría cantará como en día de fiesta

Sofonías 3:17

Sofonías es el profeta de los pobres. Él invita al pueblo a cantar con alegría, porque ha llegado el día del Señor. Por fin, Dios es el único que gobierna, el que hace lo bueno y los libera, el que hace justicia a todos los pobres de la tierra. Dios se levanta contra todos los opresores que no le escuchan, ni se arrepienten y que tratan con injusticia al pueblo.

Canten al Señor, los pobres de la tierra, los que quieren justicia y aman la paz, los que buscan hacer su voluntad, ¡Canten al Señor con alegría porque él gobierna en medio de su pueblo! No reneguemos de Dios ni tengamos miedo, porque Él está en medio de nosotros y con nosotros canta y con nosotros se alegra y con nosotros festeja. Él hace que cambie nuestra suerte y nos regala una nueva vida. La presencia de Dios sobre su pueblo trae justicia, paz y verdad para todos los que lo siguen. Él es el Dios de los pobres, de los pacificadores, de los que hacen justicia. ¡Que todos lo invoquen! ¡Que todos le sirvan!

Oración: Dios eterno y poderoso, al finalizar este trimestre intercedemos por todos los que tienen hambre y sed de justicia, por todos los que sufren, por los que claman a ti pidiendo misericordia. Amén.
