BE FILLED WITH JOY!

JOHN 16:20-24

Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with inexpressible and glorious joy.

1 Peter 1:8 (NIV)

Great joy is produced in the Christian knowledge that Jesus Christ, in whom we believe and whom we love, is the unquenchable and unchanging source of joy and peace.  We do not depend on worldly happiness or sadness for our deep and superior joy that is in Christ Jesus, our Lord. 

The Christian life is not a life of sadness, nor a life of superficial happiness.  It does not depend on riches or poverty, nor on health or sickness.  We rejoice in the things that God gives us; but especially we rejoice in God’s indescribable gift of Jesus Christ himself. 

Today you will find opportunities to demonstrate your own stability in matters that to others would cause serious problems.  Deep within you is your joy in the Lord.  You are a spring of joy and not a recipient.  

A few days ago, I heard that a brother in the congregation had gone to console a very ill woman, and he left consoled himself after talking with her. 

In Jesus Christ we are filled with indescribable and glorious joy, when our faith is tested and found rich in praise for the glory and honor of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Prayer: Lord, help us today to rejoice with those who rejoice and suffer with those who suffer, but may nothing take away your indescribable and glorious joy, our Savior and Lord.  Amen.

¡REGOCÍJATE!

JUAN 16:20-24

A quien amáis sin haberle visto, en quien creyendo, aunque

ahora no lo veáis, os alegráis con gozo inefable y glorioso

1 Pedro 1:8

Regocijo grande produce en el cristiano saber que Jesucristo, en quien cree y a quien ama, es su fuente inagotable e inmutable de gozo y paz. No dependemos de alegrías y tristezas mundanales para nuestro regocijo profundo y superior que es en Cristo Jesús, Señor nuestro.

La vida cristiana no es vida de tristezas, ni tampoco de alegrías superfluas. No depende de riquezas o pobreza, ni aun de salud o enfermedad. Nos gozamos en las cosas que Dios nos da; pero por sobre todas las cosas, todos nos gozamos en el don inefable de Dios que es Jesucristo mismo.

Hoy es un día en que tú encontrarás oportunidades para comprobar tu propia estabilidad en materias que a otros les causarían desequilibrios quizás insuperables. En lo profundo de tu ser está tu gozo en el Señor. Tú eres manantial y no receptáculo. Hace pocos días escuché que un hermano de la congregación había ido a consolar a una enferma grave, y salió muy consolado él mismo al conversar con ella.

En Jesucristo nos alegramos con gozo inefable y glorioso, cuando nuestra fe, sometida a prueba, es hallada rica en alabanza para gloria y honra de nuestro Señor Jesucristo.

Oración: Señor, ayúdanos en este día a gozarnos con los que se gozan y sufrir con los que sufren, pero sin que nada pueda quitarnos tu gozo inefable y glorioso, Salvador y Señor nuestro. Amén.
