 ARMOR OF LIGHT

Romans 13:12-14

The night is almost over, and the day is near.  So let’s get rid of the actions that belong to the darkness and put on the weapons of light.

Romans 13:12 (CEB)

            We live in a world where darkness is always around us. We need the armor of the light of God to be able to see things clearly, to protect us and to avoid the worldliness that surrounds us and leads us astray.

            God wants us to walk in the light with him, he wants us to make the maximum effort to live close to him, so that we will be aware of his loving presence. Just as we put on clothing when we get dressed, we can dress ourselves in God. This closeness that we have with our Lord will help us to make good decisions.  Nevertheless, at times we decide poorly, leading us to sin.

            When this happens to us, we do not become desperate. Since Jesus is our Savior, he has made provisions for all our sins.  The blood which he poured out on the cross cleanses us and keeps us walking in the light.  If we confess our sins, God forgives us and cleanses us from all evil, because he delights in our closeness.

 

Prayer: Dress us, Lord, in your armor of light, so that we can resist when we experience a battle in our spirit. In the name of your Son, Jesus, Amen.

ARMADURA DE LUZ

Romanos 13:12-14

La noche está avanzada, y se acerca el día. Desechemos, pues, las obras de las tinieblas, y vistámonos las armas de la luz

Romanos 13:12

            Vivimos en un mundo donde las tinieblas nos rodean permanentemente. Necesitamos la armadura de luz de Dios para poder ver las cosas de forma clara, protegernos y evitar que la mundanidad que nos rodea nos descarríe.

            Dios quiere que andemos en la luz con Él, quiere que hagamos el máximo esfuerzo para vivir cerca de Él, que seamos conscientes de su amorosa presencia. Así como nos ponemos la ropa cuando nos vestimos, podemos vestirnos de Él. Esa cercanía que tenemos con nuestro Señor nos ayudaráá a tomar buenas decisiones. Sin embargo, a veces decidimos mal, lo que nos puede llevar a pecar.

            Cuando esto nos pase, no nos desesperemos. Debido a que Jesús es nuestro Salvador, ha hecho provisiones para todos nuestros pecados. La sangre que derramó en la cruz nos limpia y nos mantiene caminando en la luz. Si confesamos nuestros pecados, Él nos perdona y nos limpia de toda maldad, porque se deleita con nuestra cercanía.

 

Oración: Vístenos, Señor, en tu armadura de luz, para poder resistir cuanto embate tengamos en nuestra vida espiritual. En el nombre de tu Hijo Jesús. Amén.
