MORE IMPORTANT THAN ECONOMY

Matthew 6:25-34

Instead, desire first and foremost God’s kingdom and God’s righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

            In the final presidential debate between John McCain and Barack Obama there was a point when both agreed there was a problem:  CONSUMERISM.  Any society that first puts material good selfishly as life’s focus of attention has converted that material good into an alien-god.  The strong economies of nations should serve to avoid the big, uncontrollable problems and social differences.     Any activity or thought that prioritizes the money-god over the love of the true God and love of neighbor will alienate us from the ideal of the kingdom characterized by LOVE, FAITH, HOPE, RECONCILIATION, FORGIVENESS, HAPPINESS, JUSTICE, MERCY, HUMILITY AND PEACE. 

            China has huge development in all spheres and nevertheless is confronting youth addiction to the Internet.  Due to this, they have been forced to open more than 400 rehabilitation centers in order to alleviate said wrong.

            God knows what we need and has it always ready in the most unexpected and amazing way. Has this not happened to all of those of us who have followed today’s verse? Let us always trust in this powerful truth:  look first for the justice of the Kingdom.

 

Prayer:  Father of Love, we give you thanks because you invite us to live in the only Kingdom which we can enjoy for eternity.  We glorify you in the name of Christ Jesus.  Amen.

MÁS IMPORTANTE QUE LA ECONOMIA

Mateo 6:25-34

Más primeramente buscad el Reino de Dios y su justicia, y todas las otras cosas os serán añadidas

            En el debate presidencial final entre John McCain y Barak Obama hubo un punto en que ambos coincidieron era un problema: el CONSUMISMO. Una sociedad cualquiera en que prime el bien material de modo egoísta como foco de atención de la vida lo convierte en un dios ajeno. Las fuertes economías de las naciones deben servir para evitar los grandes e incontrolables problemas y diferencias sociales.

            Cualquier actividad o pensamiento que prioriza el dios-dinero sobre el amor al Dios verdadero y al prójimo, nos aleja del ideal de Reino, caracterizado por AMOR, FE, ESPERANZA, RECONCILIACION, PERDON, FELICIDAD, JUSTICIA, MISERICORDIA, HUMILDAD Y PAZ. 

            China tiene un desarrollo descomunal en todas las esferas y sin embargo está enfrentando una adicción en los jóvenes a la Internet, por lo que se han visto obligados a abrir más de 400 centros de rehabilitación para aliviar dicho mal.

            Dios conoce lo que necesitamos y lo tiene siempre listo de la forma más inesperada y asombrosa. ¿Acaso no le ha pasado a todos aquellos que hemos seguido el versículo de hoy? Confiemos siempre en esa poderosa verdad: primeramente busquemos la justicia del Reino.

 

Oración:  Padre de Amor te damos gracias porque nos invitas a vivir en el único Reino que podemos disfrutar hasta la eternidad. Te glorificamos en el nombre de Cristo Jesús. Amén.
