A PROVIDING GOD

Psalm 37:23-29

My God will meet all your needs according to the riches will of his glory in Christ Jesus.   (NIV)

Philippians 4:19

            We live in times when the tensions due to scarcity of all types keep increasing. Inflation is dealing a blow to global economy, and our country is triply affected after a pandemic, the effects of the war in Ukraine, and the well-known embargo.           

            The psalmist presents a reflection we should take to heart. Throughout life one sees that some prosper unjustly, while he who behaves correctly seems unable to “raise his head.” However, after that momentary thought, one could recognize that the best way is to behave according to the will of God, since in the end, the just can always welcome the help of a God who has riches and glory.

            Those who do not have riches or material goods as a priority place their heart in the Kingdom of God and his justice, effectively hoping that all of the other things may come as an addition. In this way he trusts, worships, and hopes in God, while being passionate about doing good and following what leads to peace and general well-being. In this spirit of confident certainty of divine providence, we can affirm that there is no righteous person who is forsaken, nor that his seed begs for bread. 

 

Prayer: Beloved Father, thank you for providing for us during times of scarcity and precarious economical situations. Help us to trust in your justice and act according to it. Amen.

UN DIOS PROVEEDOR

Salmo 37:23-29

Mi Dios, pues, suplirá todo lo que os falta conforme a sus riquezas en gloria en Cristo Jesús.

Filipenses 4:19

            Vivimos momentos donde las tensiones por las escaseces de todo tipo van en aumento, la inflación golpea la economía global y nuestro país se ve triplemente afectado, tras una pandemia, los efectos de la guerra en Ucrania, y el consabido embargo.

            El salmista presenta una reflexión de la cual debemos apropiarnos. A lo largo de la vida uno ve que algunos prosperan injustamente, mientras el que se conduce correctamente parece no “levantar cabeza”. No obstante, tras ese pensamiento momentáneo, puede reconocer que lo mejor es comportarse acorde  la voluntad de Dios, pues al final, el justo siempre puede acogerse al amparo de un Dios que tiene riquezas en gloria.

            Quien no tiene a las riquezas o los bienes materiales como prioridad, coloca su corazón en el Reino de Dios y su justicia, esperando que, efectivamente, todas las demás cosas vengan por añadidura. Quien así confía, alaba y espera en Dios, a la vez que se apasiona por obrar el bien y seguir lo que conduce a la paz y al bienestar general. En este espíritu de confiada certeza en la providencia divina, podemos afirmar que no hay justo desamparado ni su simiente que mendigue pan.

 

Oración: Padre amado, gracias por proveernos en medio de situaciones de  escasez y condiciones económicas precarias. Ayúdanos a confiar en tu justicia y actuar conforme a ella. Amén.
