THE LORD HEARS THOSE WHO CALL ON HIM

Psalm 86: 1-7

Incline your ear, O Lord, and answer me, for I am poor and needy.

            From Gabriel García Márquez we are familiar with the phrase, “A true friend is the one who takes your hand and touches your heart.” There’s a lot of truth in this thought because a true friend doesn’t make you feel uncomfortable in their presence but is rather an inspiration and good company.

            Thanks to knowing Christ we can sense God as our close friend. In conversation with his disciples, Jesus said, “Who has seen me has seen the Father.” He has shown us in himself what God is like, and there is no need to ask as Philip did, “Show us the Father and we will be satisfied.”

            Jesus took the hand of many needy people clamoring at his feet for mercy, heard them, helpd them, and touched their hearts. With this same love, Jesus, who is in God, hears us when we call on him. In John’s gospel, Jesus prays to God for his own and says, “The glory that you have given me I have given them, so that they may be one, as we are one.” In this certainty, we can direct our prayers to God so that God can pardon us and change our laments to dance so that we may be strengthened and encouraged in our daily journey

 

Prayer: Lord, when we feel lonely or sad or weighed down by circumstances. allow our prayer to be the pefect link that lets us feel the greatness of your love and the security of your presence. Amen.

EL SEÑOR ESCUCHA A QUIENES LE INVOCAN

Salmo 86: 1-7

Señor, dígnate escucharme, porque estoy muy triste y pobre…

Salmo 86:1

            De Gabriel García Márquez conocemos la frase: “Un verdadero amigo es quien te toma de la mano y te toca el corazón”. Tiene mucha razón este pensamiento, pues el verdadero amigo o amiga no te hace sentir incómodo con su presencia sino que es inspiración y compañía idónea.

            Gracias al conocimiento de Cristo podemos sentir a Dios como nuestro amigo cercano. En una conversación con sus discípulos Jesús dijo: Quien me ha visto a mí, ha visto al Padre. Él nos ha revelado en sí mismo cómo es Dios, ya no hay necesidad de pedir, como dijera Felipe: muéstranos al Padre... en

            Jesús tomó de la mano a muchos necesitados que clamaban misericordia a sus pies, los atendió, les asistió y les tocó así el corazón. Con ese mismo amor Jesús, que está en Dios, nos escucha cuando le invocamos. En el evangelio de Juan, Jesús ruega a Dios por los suyos y exclama: …Yo les he dado la gloria que me diste, para que sean uno, así como nosotros somos uno. Con esta seguridad dirigimos nuestras plegarias a Dios, para que nos perdone y cambie en danzas nuestro lamento, para que nos fortalezca y anime a diario en nuestro andar..

 

Oración: Señor permite que cuando nos sintamos solos o tristes, o bajo cualquier circunstancia, nuestra oración sea el vínculo perfecto para experimentar la grandeza de tu amor y sentir la seguridad de tu presencia. Amén.
