REJOICING IN PRAISE

Psalm 81

Sing for joy to God our strength; shout out loud to the God of Jacob! (NIV)

Psalm 81:1

            Music plays a very important role in our reformed liturgy with a logical sequence and a connection from one part to the other. At times we arrive at our churches overwhelmed, tired, and downcast, and joyful music, played and coming from the heart of the congregation, transforms the day for us. What great joy we feel when our worship of God is accompanied by a multitude of the faithful also praising him! What great joy we feel when we can exalt the Lord in our Sunday service, together with the entire church and share this joy! The Sunday praise, harmonized with the piano, guitar, drum and trumpet, the chorus of children, young people and adults increases our joy and each Sunday becomes delicious and festive. How joyful it is to worship in community, and what joy the whole church feels!   

            This is how we worship our God: the proclaimed word, holy Communion, worship shared in joy, dedicated to our Savior. There are certainly many reasons to dedicate our praise to God.

 

Prayer: Only to you Lord, our strength and sole sustainer, do we dedicate our praise. We know that our joy pleases you and you return it to us with infinite love and strength so that we can live confidently. Amen.

GOZANDONOS EN LA ALABANZA

Salmo 81

Cantad con gozo a Dios, fortaleza nuestra.

Salmo 81:1

            En nuestra liturgia reformada, con una secuencia lógica y en conexión una parte con la otra, la música juega un papel muy importante. A veces llegamos a nuestros templos abrumados, cansados y cabizbajos, y una música alegre, bien tocada, y salida del corazón de la congregación nos transforma el día. ¡Qué gran gozo sentimos cuando nuestra alabanza a Dios va acompañada de una multitud de fieles que también le alaban! ¡Qué gozo sentimos cuando en nuestro culto dominical podemos exaltar al Señor, junto a toda la iglesia, y compartir ese júbilo! La alabanza dominical armonizada con el piano, la guitarra, la batería, la trompeta, los coros de niños y niñas, jóvenes y adultos, nos incrementan el gozo y cada domingo resulta delicioso y festivo. ¡Qué alegre es adorar en comunidad y que gozo siente toda la iglesia!

            Así adoramos a nuestro Dios: la Palabra proclamada, la cena compartida, la adoración llena de júbilo, dedicada a nuestro Salvador. Ciertamente son muchos los motivos para dedicar nuestras alabanzas a Dios.

 

Oración: Solo a ti Señor, que eres nuestra fortaleza y nuestro único sustento, dedicamos nuestras alabanzas. Sabemos que nuestro gozo te agrada y tú nos lo devuelves con infinito amor y fortaleza para que podamos vivir confiados. Amén.
