EVERYONE WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE TO GOD

Ezekiel 18:14-20

The person who sins shall die. . . and the wickedness of the wicked shall be his own.

Ezekiel 18:20 (NRSV)

              There is a principle of which we should all be aware and comport ourselves in conformity to it. God is the origin and sustainer of all that is. God is the supreme ruler and sooner or later, in one form or another, all of his rational creatures, who bear in our inner being his very image and likeness, will have to give account of our acts, our thoughts and our decisions. What does not conform to God’s regimen  becomes disorder and ends up disappearing.

              An important aspect of this inescapable reality is that each of us bears his own responsibility. We are moral beings which makes us independent and responsible.

              An attitude which appears to be a tendency in the majority of humans is that in order to excuse our lacks and faults we blame others. That’s what Adam and Eve did. Let’s not follow their example. The shortest and safest way to correct out problems is to recognize them, repent of them, and consequently take the right path.

 

Prayer: God, give us the grace to confess our sins in genuine repenteance in order to receive your grace and do good. Amen.

CADA UNO DARA CUENTA A DIOS

Ezequiel 18:14-20

El alma que pecare, esa morirá… la impiedad del impío será sobre él.

Ezequiel 18:20

               Hay un principio del cual nosotros debiéramos ser conscientes y comportarnos con conformidad. Dios es el originador y sustentador de todo cuanto existe. Él es el regidor supremo, y tarde o temprano, de una o de otra forma, todas sus criaturas racionales, quienes llevamos en nuestro propio ser su imagen y semejanza, tendremos que rendirle cuenta de nuestros actos, de nuestros pensamientos y de nuestras decisiones. Lo que no se ajusta al gobierno de Dios viene  a ser desorden y termina por desaparecer.

              Un importante aspecto de esta inescapable realidad es que cada uno carga con su propia responsabilidad. Somos seres morales, lo cual nos hace independientes y responsables.

              Una actitud que parece ser una tendencia en la mayoría de los seres humanos es que,  para excusarnos de nuestras faltas, le echamos la culpa a los demás. Así lo hicieron Adán y Eva. No sigamos el ejemplo de ellos. El camino más corto y más seguro para enmendar nuestros problemas es que los reconozcamos, nos arrepintamos y, consecuentemente, tomemos el camino correcto.

 

Oración: Dios, concédenos la gracia de confesar nuestros pecados en arrepentimiento genuino, para poder recibir tu gracia y obrar el bien. Amén.
