Psalm 85: 8 -13

Let me hear what God the Lord will speak, for he will speak peace to his people

Psalm 85: 8a (NRSV)

            We have lived in fierce times. A pandemic assaulted our lives, and changes were multiplied daily. Isolation overwhelmed our accustomed activities, reduced the ambient noise, and the flow of people passing in the streets. The need for using a mask placed barriers in conversations, leaving our own voices stifled.

            So, it becomes quite an event when we hear a person pass by proclaiming something in the street; we remain attentive to hear what he says, who he is and what he brings that could be of sustenance. But, of greatest importance, there is someone who never stops coming by every morning, or transmitting words of encouragement, of hope, of peace to his people, and that is God. His message is always good for our life. Anyone who wants to listen to him should be ready to hear his voice alone, the one that calms the most stormy of days. His help is near to all who honor him, and at all times he spreads his love like a refreshing drizzle on our hearts.

 

Prayer: God, help us to hear your words of life, and may your steps show us the way. Amen.

PALABRAS EN EL CAMINO

Salmo 85: 8 -13

Escucharé lo que dirá Dios el Señor, porque hablará paz a su pueblo

Salmo 85: 8a

            Hemos vivido unos años  intensos. Una pandemia asaltó nuestras vidas y los desafíos diarios fueron multiplicados. El aislamiento dominó las costumbres, redujo los ruidos ambientales, el flujo de personas transitando en las calles. La necesidad de usar una máscara puso barreras a las conversaciones, quedando nuestra propia voz limitada.

            Así, se vuelve todo un suceso cuando sentimos pasar una persona pregonando algo en la calle, nos quedamos atentos para escuchar qué dice, quién es y qué trae que pudiese ser de sustento. Pero, justamente, hay alguien que nunca deja de pasar cada mañana, ni de trasmitir palabras de aliento, de esperanza, de paz a su pueblo, y es Dios. Siempre su mensaje es bueno para nuestra vida. Toda persona que quiera escucharle solo debe estar presta a oír su voz, esa que calma los más tempestuosos días. Su ayuda está cercana a quienes le honran y en todo tiempo esparce su amor como una llovizna refrescante para nuestros corazones.

 

Oración: Dios, ayúdanos a escuchar tus palabras de vida, y que tus pasos nos indiquen el camino. Amén.
