MISSION IMPOSIBLE

Luke 18:24-30

He replied, “What is impossible for mortals is possible for God.”

Luke 18:27 (NRSV)

            As capable as we may be, some things will always be impossible for us. Regardless of the education we have, what we decide to be, or how much money we have, there are things that elude our control.

            All in all, just because something is impossible for us, it doesn’t mean that we have no hope. Where we can’t, God can. The God who created the universe, who placed the moon and the stars in the heavens, who set the sun in its place and restored life to Lazarus after four days in the tomb is a God who knows no limits.

            Whatever we face, we can do it with confidence. God, who loved us more than anything, will fulfill his purpose. He is a God who likes to push things to the limit before acting, in order to achieve glory. He is an amazing, all powerful God who cares deeply for all and for each one of his children.

            It might seem that we are dealing with the impossible, left to our own devices. But we must never forget: nothing is impossible for God.

 

Prayer: Beloved God, thank you for being a God of miracles. Help me to trust your ability to accomplish your will, even when it seems impossible to me. Amen.

MISION IMPOSIBLE

Lucas 18:24-30

Él les dijo: “Lo que es imposible para los hombres, es posible para Dios.”

Lucas 18:27

            Por capaces que podamos ser, algunas cosas siempre seguirán siendo imposibles para nosotros. Independientemente de la educación que tengamos, de lo decididos que seamos, o de cuánto  dinero tengamos, hay cosas que se salen de nuestro control.

            Con todo, solo porque algo sea imposible para nosotros, no significa que no tengamos ninguna esperanza. Donde nosotros no podemos, Dios sí puede. El Dios que creó el universo, que puso en el cielo la luna y las estrellas, que situó el sol en su lugar y que devolvió la vida a Lázaro después de cuatro días en la tumba es un Dios que no conoce límites.

            Nos enfrentemos a lo que nos enfrentemos, podemos hacerlo con confianza. Dios, que nos amó más que a nada, cumplirá su propósito. Y es un Dios al que le gusta llevar  las cosas al límite antes de actuar, para conseguir la gloria. Es un Dios asombroso, todopoderoso, y se preocupa profundamente por todos y  cada uno de sus hijos e hijas.

            Puede parecer que nos enfrentamos a lo imposible, dejados a nuestra suerte. Pero no debemos olvidarlo nunca: no hay nada imposible para Dios.

 

Oración: Amado Padre, gracias por ser un Dios de milagros. Ayúdame a confiar en tu capacidad de lograr tu propósito, incluso cuando parezca imposible para mí. Amén.
