THE FIRE THAT TESTS US

Romans 5:3-4

This is so you won’t be lazy, but follow the example of the ones who inherit the promises

through faith and patience.

Hebrews 6:12 (CEB)

             Discouragement or doubt should not separate us from the loving lessons of discipline that the Heavenly Father has for us.

            The blacksmith tests his metal, he heats it, he begins to forge it and immediately he puts it in water.  If after having tested it various times he realizes that it cannot be forged, he throws it in the trash.

            The Lord also tests us. It is possible that we will not be able to endure the test; but if, on the contrary, we are willing to endure the process of its tempering, surely the Lord will not throw us out as useless.

            When the fire may be very hot we should persevere, and even more if we know that afterward we will receive a great blessing.  Then we will be able to say like Job:  I have been tested, I will come out like gold.

            Surely we can resist the test.  Things that hurt or damage us transform us to be able to sing a song of perfect praise. 

 

Prayer: Loving God, allow me to pass through the test of fire that you give me and to pass through victoriously.  Amen.

EL FUEGO QUE NOS PRUEBA

Romanos 5:3-4

...a fin de que no os hagáis perezosos, sino imitadores de aquellos que por la fe y la paciencia heredan las promesas.

Hebreos 6:12

            El desaliento o la duda no deben alejarnos de las lecciones de la disciplina amorosa que tiene para nosotros nuestro Padre Celestial.

            El herrero prueba su acero, lo calienta, empieza a forjarlo e inmediatamente lo introduce en agua. Si después de probado varias veces se da cuenta que no puede ser forjado, lo arroja a la basura.

            También el Señor nos prueba. Puede que no estemos en condiciones de sobrellevar la prueba;  pero si por el contrario nos disponemos a soportar el proceso de su temple, de seguro que el Señor no nos ha de arrojar por inservibles.

            Cuando el fuego esté muy caliente debemos perseverar, mucho más si sabemos que después recibiremos una gran bendición. Entonces podremos decir como Job: Puesto a prueba, saldré como el oro.

            Seguramente que sí podemos resistir la prueba. Las cosas que lastiman y dañan nos transforman para poder cantar un himno de perfecta alabanza.

 

Oración: Dios amado, permíteme pasar por la prueba de fuego que me haces y salir victorioso de ella. Amén.
