NOW I WILL ARISE, SAYS THE LORD

Isaiah 33:1-10

Now I will arise,” says the Lord, “now I will lift myself up; now I will be exalted.

Isaiah 33:10 (NRSV)

When the destroyers had devastated the land, as if it had been devoured by locusts, and the soldiers who defended the country, sat down to weep like women; then the Lord came to the aid of his people. When the travelers stopped traveling, then the Lord arose. God is extolled in the midst of an afflicted people because they seek his face and have faith in Him. He is even more exalted when in response to their cries, he rises up to free them and to destroy their enemies.

Is today a day of pain for us? Let us now wait for the Lord to be glorified in our liberation. Do we pray fervently? Are we crying out to Him day and night? Then the time prescribed for demonstrating his grace is near. God will be exalted at the opportune time. He will arise when doing so displays his glory even more. We desire his glory more than we long for our own deliverance. May the Lord be exalted and our great desire be obtained.

 

Prayer: Lord, help us in such a way that we can see that it is you yourself at work. May we magnify you in our innermost being so that all around us may see that you are a good and great God. Amen.

AHORA ME LEVANTARÉ, DICE JEHOVA

Isaias 33:1-10

Ahora me levantaré, dice Jehová; ahora seré exaltado, ahora seré engrandecido

Isaías 33:10

Cuando los destructores habían desbastado la tierra, como si hubiera sido devorada por la langosta, y los soldados que defendían el país, se sentaron a llorar como mujeres; entonces el Señor vino en socorro de su pueblo. Cuando los viajeros cesaron de caminar entonces el Señor se levantó. Dios es ensalzado en medio de un pueblo afligido, porque buscan su rostro y confían en Él. Él es aún más ensalzado cuando en respuesta a sus clamores se levanta a librarlos, a derribar a sus enemigos.

¿Es este un día de dolor para nosotros? Esperemos ahora al Señor glorificado en nuestra liberación. ¿Estamos orando con fervor? ¿Clamamos a Él día y noche? Entonces el tiempo prescrito para demostrar su gracia está cerca. Dios se ensalzará en el tiempo oportuno. Él se levantará cuando con ello despliegue más su gloria. Deseamos su gloria más que anhelamos nuestra propia liberación. Que el Señor sea ensalzado y nuestro mayor deseo está obtenido.

 

Oración: Señor, ayúdanos de tal manera que veamos que tú mismo estás obrando. Que te magnifiquemos en lo más íntimo de nosotros para que todos en derredor nuestro vean que tú eres un Dios bueno y grande. Amén.
