GOD IS LOVE

1 John 4: 16-21

And he has given us this command: Anyone who loves God must also love their brother and sister. (NIV)

1 John 4:21

Jesus Christ has given us this command: “Love our brothers as we say we love God.”

God teaches us that it’s not possible to believe in him and be hostile to our brother or sister, or treat them badly, given that we know them and we live together. But Christ and God, well, we haven’t seen. 

It’s possible that, not unlike me, my brother or sister is full of defects, but defects that, like mine, don’t merit our condemnation. Therefore, at the same time, we should pray for ourselves and for our neighbor, to ask God’s forgiveness for our faults and errors, and that he might also place the Holy Spirit upon my brother and sister and wipe clean their faults and defects.   

Let us pray, with a faith that moves mountains, for brothers and sisters, with the certainty that God will hear our prayers and we will make the stay in our homes more pleasant and beneficial with the union of all.

 

Prayer: Father of love and mercy, with humility I pray to you that you may have mercy on us and forgive our shortcomings. I also pray, Father, for the faults and defects of those who do not pray because they do not know you, and I ask that you help me to pray for them until our conciliation really achieves brotherhood. Amen.

DIOS ES AMOR

1 Juan 4: 16-21

Y nosotros tenemos este mandamiento de él: El que ama a Dios, ame también a su hermano

1 Juan 4:21

Jesucristo nos ha dado este mandamiento: amar a nuestros hermanos tanto como decimos amar a Dios.

Dios nos enseña que no es posible creer en Él y estar enemistados con nuestro hermano o hermana, o de no tratarles bien; pues a ellos les conocemos y convivimos con ellos, pero a Cristo, a Dios, no lo hemos visto.

Es posible que, al igual que yo, mi hermano o hermana esté lleno de defectos, pero defectos que, al igual que los míos, no merecen nuestra condena. Por tanto debemos orar  por nosotros y por nuestro prójimo para pedir a Dios a la vez que  perdone nuestras faltas y errores, que también Él ponga el Espíritu Santo sobre mi hermano y hermana y borre sus faltas y defectos.

Oremos con la fe que mueve montañas  por nuestros hermanos y hermanas, con la certeza de que Dios oirá nuestras oraciones y haremos la estancia en nuestros hogares más agradable y beneficiosas con la unión de todos.

 

Oración: Padre de amor y misericordia, con humildad te ruego que tengas piedad de nosotros y perdones nuestras faltas. También te ruego Padre por las faltas y defectos de quienes no oran porque no te conocen, y te pido que me ayudes a orar por ellos, hasta que nuestra conciliación sea realmente una unión de hermanos. Amén.
