THE JUST WILL PRAISE YOUR NAME

Psalm 140

Surely the righteous will praise your name; and the upright will live in your presence. (NIV)

Psalm 140:13

Oh, that my heart might be upright so it can always bless the name of the Lord! He is so good to those who are good that I desire I may be counted among them and feel myself more filled with gratitude every day. For a moment, perhaps, the just may lose confidence when their integrity leads them to hard trials, but surely the day will come when they bless their God because they did not give in to evil council nor serve the cunning. Sooner or later, the faithful will give thanks to God for his justice and for having guided them on a righteous path. Oh, that I may be counted among them!

What a promise is understood in this second sentence: “The upright will dwell in your presence!” They will be well received, where others will appear only to be condemned. They will be courtiers of the High King and will obtain an audience whenever they wish. They will be favored people, to whom Jehovah is propitious and with whom he has blessed fellowship. Lord, I desire this great honor, this precious privilege; enjoying him will be heaven on earth for me.  

 

Prayer: Make me upright, Lord, in all things, so that today, tomorrow, and every day I may dwell in your divine presence. Then I will praise your name forever. Amen.

LOS JUSTOS ALABARÁN TU NOMBRE

Salmo 140

Ciertamente los justos alabarán tu nombre; los rectos morarán en tu presencia

Salmo 140:13

¡Oh, que mi corazón sea recto, para que pueda siempre bendecir el nombre del  Señor! Él es tan bueno a los que son buenos, que yo desearía ser contado entre ellos y sentirme más lleno de gratitud cada día. Tal vez por un momento los justos pierdan confianza cuando su integridad los lleva a duras pruebas; pero seguramente el día vendrá cuando bendigan a su Dios, porque no cedieron a consejos malos, ni se sirvieron de la astucia. Tarde o temprano los hombres fieles darán gracias al Dios de la justicia por haberles guiado por un camino recto. ¡Oh, que sea yo contado entre ellos!

¡Qué promesa comprendida en esta segunda frase: Los  rectos morarán en tu presencia! Serán bien recibidos donde otros aparecerán solamente para ser condenados. Serán cortesanos del Gran Rey y obtendrán una audiencia siempre que lo desean. Serán gentes favorecidas a las cuales Jehová es propicio y con quienes Él tiene comunión bendita. Señor, yo deseo esta honra grande, este precioso privilegio; gozar de Él será para mí  el cielo sobre la tierra.

 

Oración: Hazme recto Señor,  en todas las cosas, para que hoy, mañana y cada día, more en tu divina presencia. Entonces alabaré tu Nombre para siempre. Amén
