JESUS, BREAD OF LIFE

John 6: 35- 40

For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the son and believes in him shall have eternal life…

John 6: 40a.

I am the bread that gives life: This is Jesus’ direct response to the people’s demand for bread, because it was necessary for them to understand that He was speaking of spiritual bread and not physical bread. He hoped to lift their eyes from the material bread and the earthly to the spiritual realities, and the only condition to obtain that bread, is coming and believing in Jesus, which at the same time, is the personal decision of each one.

But he made it clear that the final outcome is in God’s hands. Since Jesus is the bread of life, humanity is invited to come to Him and to believe in Him.  We are given signs every day  that Jesus nourishes us when our lives are filled with joy and gladness at the good news; as well as strength and comfort in the face of the difficulties and sadness we suffer. This is only possible because we truly place all our trust in his hands

 

Prayer: Lord of life, we ask you to increase our faith to act according to your will. Amen..

JESUS, PAN DE VIDA

Juan 6: 35- 40

Porque la voluntad de mi Padre es que todo el que reconozca al Hijo y crea en él, tenga vida eterna...

Juan 6: 40a.

Yo soy el pan que da vida: Es la respuesta directa de Jesús a la demanda de pan de la gente, porque era necesario que entendieran que Él estaba hablando de pan espiritual y no físico; Él esperaba levantarle sus ojos del pan material y los reinos terrenales, hacia las realidades espirituales. Y la única condición para obtener ese pan, es venir y creer en Jesús, que a la vez, es decisión personal de cada cual.

Pero dejó claro que el resultado final está en las manos de Dios. Como Jesús es el pan de vida, la humanidad está invitada a venir a Él y a creer en Él. Diariamente se nos dan muestras de que Jesús nos alimenta, cuando nuestras vidas se llenan de gozo y alegría ante las buenas nuevas; como también de fuerzas y consuelo ante las dificultades y tristezas que sufrimos. Eso solo es posible porque verdaderamente depositamos toda nuestra confianza en sus manos.

 

Oración: Señor de la vida, te pedimos que aumentes nuestra fe para actuar conforme a tu voluntad. Amén.
