COMMITED TO PEACE

John 14:27-31

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.

John 14:27 (NIV)

Many people doing small things in many places, at the same time generate big things. One of the greatest and most urgent demands of humanity, is peace. To be more conclusive: the peace that Jesus leaves us, the peace that he gives us. Far from being a state of want or inertia, it is unfinished peace, because it presents itself as a constant exercise of living it while building it in profound and respectful dialogue with those around us. The peace that Jesus leaves us requires that we learn to forgive, that we are able to speak the truth, that we do not sweeten injustice, that we live from empathy and otherness in our relationships in the places and spaces that we inhabit. Let us be people who make and live peace. Let us make our lives a permanent commitment to the peace that Jesus gives us.

 

Prayer: Lord, help us not to make of your peace a utopia; allow us to experience it and share it in this world that needs it so much. Amen.

COMPROMETIDOS CON LA PAZ

Juan 14:27-31

Les dejo la paz, les doy mi paz. La paz que yo les doy no es como la que da el mundo

Mucha gente haciendo pequeñas cosas en muchos lugares al mismo tiempo generan grandes cosas. Una de las demandas más grandes y urgentes de la humanidad, es la paz. Siendo más concluyentes: la paz que Jesús nos deja, la paz que nos da. Aquella que lejos de ser un estado de inopia o inercia es paz inacabada, porque se nos presenta como el ejercicio constante de vivirla mientras la construimos en diálogo respetuoso y profundo con quienes están a nuestro alrededor.  La paz que nos deja Jesús requiere que aprendamos a perdonar, que seamos capaces de hablar con la verdad, que no edulcoremos la injusticia, que vivamos desde la empatía y alteridad nuestras relaciones allí en los lugares y espacios que habitamos. Seamos de la gente que hace y vive la paz. Hagamos de nuestra vida un compromiso permanente con la paz que Jesús nos da.

 

Oración: Señor, ayúdanos para no hacer de tu paz una utopía; permite que podamos experimentarla y compartirla en este mundo que tanto la necesita. Amén.
