LISTENING TO THE HEART

John 6: 22-29

Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: To believe in the one he has sent.”(NIV)

John 6: 29

Following God in these times is sometimes difficult for us, especially when we try to explain our faith to our family, friends, at schools, or in the workplace. We doubt our faith when bad things happen to us, or when we hear news about wars, destruction, and accidents. But there is something else that cannot be explained. It is felt, just as you feel the wind on your face and you do not see it. This is how we carry our faith, the one that penetrates deep into our hearts. And it is that spark that keeps alive the flame of hope, of a better future.

I follow Jesus not only for what he offers me, but for what I am capable of giving and achieving. If you also want to follow Jesus, detach yourself from what holds you, break the chains, believe, open your arms and your heart. That is the work of God.

 

Prayer: Almighty Lord, let each of our thoughts, words and actions be for your honor and glory. Be our light and guide. Amen.

ESCUCHANDO AL CORAZÓN

Juan 6: 22-29

Respondió Jesús: La obra de Dios consiste en que crean en aquel a quien él ha enviado.

Seguir a Dios en estos tiempos nos resulta a veces difícil, sobre todo cuando intentamos explicar nuestra fe a nuestros familiares, amigos, en las escuelas o en los centros laborales. Cuando nos suceden cosas malas o cuando escuchamos noticias sobre guerras, destrucción, accidentes, dudamos de nuestra fe; pero hay algo más que no se puede explicar, se siente, así como sientes el viento en tu rostro y no lo ves, así llevamos nuestra fe, esa que cala hondo en nuestros corazones. Y es esa chispa que mantiene viva la llama de la esperanza, de un porvenir mejor.

Yo sigo a Jesús no solo por lo que me ofrece, sino por lo que soy capaz de dar y de lograr. Si tú también quieres seguir a Jesús, despréndete de lo que te sostiene, rompe las cadenas, cree, abre tus brazos y tu corazón, en eso consiste la obra de Dios.

 

Oración: Señor todopoderoso, permite que cada uno de nuestros pensamientos, palabras y acciones sean para tu honra y gloria. Sé nuestra luz y guía. Amén.
