PEACE BE WITH YOU

John 20: 19-31

Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.”

John 20:21(NRSV)

It has dawned and, with the sun, the fears and doubts that with the rest could have been forgotten or remembered too much are illuminated, filling us with sleeplessness. This is also how the disciples woke up after the crucifixion of Jesus. But the disciples were filled with joy at seeing their Lord alive. Jesus had been able to conquer every obstacle including death. How can we not doubt like Thomas? His resurrection is the definite proof of his power and his divinity.

In the midst of our doubts and fears about all the problems that surround us, we must trust Jesus who controls all the difficult situations that confront us in life. Jesus brings peace to our tormented hearts. This passage reminds us that no matter how great our fears, he is always present and consoles and strengthens us.

 

Prayer: Thank you, Jesus, for being alive and present in our lives. We entrust to you our difficulties, fears, and doubts so that you may work in your holy and blessed will for the good of my life and of all creation. Amen.

PAZ A USTEDES

Juan 20: 19-31

Entonces Jesús les dijo otra vez: ¡Paz a vosotros! Como me envió el Padre, así también yo os envío.

Juan 20:21

Ha amanecido y con el sol alumbran los miedos y las dudas que con el descanso pudieron haberse olvidado o recordado demasiado llenándonos de desvelos. Así también amanecían los discípulos después de la crucifixión de Jesús. Pero los discípulos se llenan de alegría al ver a su Señor vivo. Jesús había sido capaz de superar cualquier obstáculo, incluso la muerte. ¿Cómo no dudar como Tomás? Pero su resurrección es la prueba definitiva de su poder y divinidad. 

En medio de nuestras dudas y miedos por todos los problemas que nos acompañan, debemos confiar en Jesús, quien tiene el control de todas las situaciones difíciles que enfrentamos en la vida. Jesús trae paz a los corazones atormentados;  y este pasaje nos recuerda que no importa cuán grandes sean nuestros temores, porque Él está siempre presente para consolarnos y fortalecernos.

 

Oración: Jesús, gracias por estar vivo y presente en nuestras vidas. Confiamos a ti nuestras dificultades, nuestros temores y nuestras dudas para que obres en tu santa y bendita voluntad para el bien de mi vida y de la creación toda. Amén.
