DOERS OF HIS WORD
ACTS 8: 26-40
Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “ Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked. “ How can I,” he said, “ unless someone explains to me?” So he invited Philip to come up and talk to him.
Acts 8:30-31NIV
We are called to share the Gospel, and, like Philip, we have no choice but to obey God’s call. Philip is forceful, goes without hesitation, and acts with the certainty that God places us in the right place at the right time. On the other hand, there is the Ethiopian, who without being able to understand what he was reading, and even above his rank, invites Philip to join him on his way and listens to him attentively. The Ethiopian so accepts the presence of God in Jesus that he interrupts his journey to be baptized. Both cases are worth appreciating: Philip, who is moved by his heart to go where God calls; and the Ethiopian, who humbly opens his ears to listen and receive this new message of hope.
May we be bridges of the saving word, and above all, may we have a humble heart ready to listen to what God wants to tell us.
Prayer: Wise God, may we not only be hearers, but doers of your word. Amen.

HACEDORES DE SU PALABRA
Hechos 8: 26-40
