God’s Wisdom

1 Kings 3:4-13

Give your servant therefore an understanding mind to govern your people, able to discern between good and evil; for who can govern this your great people?”

1 Kings 3:9 (NRSV)

Amidst the difficult days we Cubans are experiencing, the terrible news we hear about Palestinian families, and so many other sorrows that reach us through social media, my heart is filled with longing as I read this text. How much the rulers of this world need divine wisdom!

I have no idea to which god they have given their hearts, and although I do not believe it is to the God of Love, I want to ask my God to give them all the intelligence to listen to Him: that they may see and feel the pain of their peoples and use their powers to act on their behalf, promoting peace and justice.

Prayer: I also need your wisdom, Lord, to govern my life with love, and to inspire everyone I meet today to do the same. May we form a great network that touches the hearts of our leaders and continues to spread throughout the world. And may your wisdom guide me to persevere in this task today and always. Amen.

SABIDURÍA DE DIOS

1 Reyes 3:4-13

Yo te pido que me des un corazón con mucho entendimiento para gobernar a tu pueblo y para discernir entre lo bueno y lo malo.

1 Reyes 3:9

 

En medio de los días difíciles que vivimos los cubanos, de las noticias terribles que escuchamos sobre las familias palestinas y tantos otros dolores que nos llegan a través de las redes, mi corazón se llena de añoranza al leer este texto ¡Cuánta necesidad de la sabiduría divina tienen los gobernantes de este mundo!

 

No tengo idea de a qué dios han entregado su corazón, y aunque no creo que sea al Dios de Amor, yo quiero pedirle a mi Dios que les dé a todos, inteligencia para escucharlo: que puedan ver y sentir el dolor de sus pueblos y muevan sus poderes para actuar en favor de ellos, promoviendo paz y justicia.

 

Oración: Yo también necesito de tu sabiduría, Señor, para gobernar mi vida desde el amor, y contagiar a cada persona con quien me encuentre hoy, a hacerlo también. Que formemos una gran red, que llegue a tocar el corazón de nuestros gobernantes y siga expandiéndose por todo el mundo. Y que tu sabiduría me guíe, además, para perseverar en la tarea hoy y siempre. Amén
