ABOUT PRAYER

Matthew 6:7-15

This, then, is how you should pray: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.”

Matthew 6:9-10 (NIV)

This prayer, taught by Jesus, allows Christians to call God, Father. In it, Jesus explains how we should pray. First, by proclaiming the name of God and asking that humanity understand that He is the giver of life, that His divine will, His plan, may also be done on earth.

Prayer has two aspects: union with God and petition to God. The reign of God is Jesus’ proposal for the future, which means that it has not yet been realized, and that God’s love has not found a full response and has not managed to reach the whole of creation. Therefore, He continues to unfold His power and communicate His message in order to bring about a new, just, and fraternal human society on Earth.

Prayer: Father, through the experience of the Spirit, we form the nucleus of a new society. Allow us to commit ourselves to working to ensure that it spreads to all of humanity. Amen.

SOBRE LA ORACIÓN

Mateo 6:7-15

Vosotros, pues, oráis así: Padre Nuestro que estás en los cielos, santificado sea tu nombre. Venga tu Reino. Hágase tu voluntad, como en el cielo, así también en la tierra.

Mateo 6:9-10

Esta oración, enseñada por Jesús, permite a los cristianos llamar Padre a Dios. En ella Jesús explica cómo debemos pedir. Primeramente, proclamando el nombre de Dios y pidiendo que la humanidad comprenda que Él es el dador de vida, que su voluntad divina, su designio, se realice también en la tierra. La oración tiene dos aspectos, la unión con Dios y la petición a Dios. El reinado de Dios es la propuesta de futuro que hace Jesús, lo que significa que no está realizado y que el amor de Dios no ha encontrado plena respuesta, no ha conseguido llegar a la creación entera, por ello sigue desplegando su eficacia y realizando su comunicación, para lograr realizar una sociedad humana nueva, justa y fraterna en la Tierra.

Oración:  Padre, por la experiencia del Espíritu constituimos el núcleo de una nueva sociedad, permítenos comprometernos a trabajar para conseguir que la misma se extienda a la humanidad entera. Amén.
