SALT AND LIGHT FOR TODAY

Matthew 5:13-16

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:16  (NIV)

Jesus invites us to be salt and light in these times, and no one understands the true value of these elements better than a Cuban, for we know what it is to lack one or both, and how essential they are in our daily lives.

We are called to be salt, which preserves what is good and gives flavor to what is bland, and at the same time, to be that visible light that shines and guides those it reaches. It is a call that must be renewed daily, to glorify the Father, who will guide us and give us the right words and actions to reach others.

Let our actions speak of our faith today. It’s not just about words, but about living in such a way that others can see Christ in those of us who have accepted him.

Prayer: Father, thank you for reminding me today that I am salt and light in this world. Help me to live in a way that my actions reflect your love and truth, so that others may come to know you through me. Amen.

SAL Y LUZ PARA HOY

Mateo 5:13-16

De la misma manera, que la luz de ustedes alumbre delante de todos, para que todos vean sus buenas obras y glorifiquen a su Padre, que está en los cielos.

Mateo 5: 16

Jesús nos invita a ser sal y luz en estos tiempos, y nadie mejor que un cubano para entender el verdadero valor de estos elementos, pues sabemos lo que es carecer de alguno, o de ambos, y cuán necesarios son en nuestro día a día.

Somos convocados a ser sal, que preserva lo bueno y da sabor a lo insípido, y a la vez, ser esa luz visible, que brilla y guía a quienes alcanza. Es un llamado que debe renovarse diariamente, para glorificar al Padre, quien nos guiará y dará las palabras y acciones correctas para llegar a otros y otras.

Permitamos hoy que nuestras acciones hablen de nuestra fe. No se trata solo de palabras, sino de vivir de tal manera, que otros puedan ver a Cristo en quienes le hemos aceptado.

Oración: Padre, gracias por recordarme hoy que soy sal y luz en este mundo. Ayúdame a vivir de manera que mis acciones reflejen tu amor y verdad, para que otros puedan conocerte a través de mí. Amén.
