Love Beyond the Limits

Matthew 5:43-48

But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you

This text reminds us that Christian love is not a passing sentiment, but rather a decision that reflects God’s grace. The Lord makes the sun to shine on the just and the unjust, showing that his goodness does not discriminate. So too, we who are called to be children of the Father must reflect this same breadth of love. This commandment is not easy. It requires constant prayer, humility and dependence on the Holy Spirit. Loving our enemies does not mean approving of their actions, but rather recognizing that they, too, were created in God’s image. When we decide to love in this way, we become living witnesses to the Gospel, showing that the cross conquered hate, and that the resurrection ushered in a kingdom of reconciliation. Today, the challenge is clear: who do you need to love beyond your limits? The love of Christ enables us to take that step.

Prayer: Lord, teach us to love as You love. Remove resentment from our hearts and grant us the grace to pray for those who have hurt us. Amen.

Amar Más Allá de los Límites

Mateo 5:43-48

Pero yo os digo: Amad a vuestros enemigos, bendecid a los que os maldicen, haced bien a los que os aborrecen, y orad por los que os ultrajan y os persiguen

Este texto nos recuerda que el amor cristiano no es un sentimiento pasajero, sino una decisión que refleja la gracia de Dios. El Señor hace salir el sol sobre justos e injustos, mostrando que su bondad no discrimina. Así también nosotros, llamados a ser hijos del Padre, debemos reflejar esa misma amplitud de amor.Este mandato no es fácil. Requiere oración constante, humildad y dependencia del Espíritu Santo. Amar a los enemigos no significa aprobar sus acciones, sino reconocer que ellos también son portadores de la imagen de Dios. Cuando decidimos amar de esta manera, nos convertimos en testigos vivos del evangelio, mostrando que la cruz venció al odio y que la resurrección inauguró un reino de reconciliación.Hoy, el desafío es claro: ¿a quién necesitas amar más allá de tus límites? El amor de Cristo nos capacita para dar ese paso.

Oración: Señor, enséñanos a amar como Tú amas. Quita de nuestro corazón el rencor y danos la gracia de orar por quienes nos han herido. Amén.
