MERCY

John 6:1 -15

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink…

Matthew 25:35a (NRSV)

Without hesitation, the people followed Jesus because of the signs he had performed. Jesus was tired, but he spoke to the people for a long time, so long that it was time to eat and they were far away.  The Master wanted to do it in an earthly way and asked his disciples to help him, but it was in vain; they had nothing. And then the miracle happened: a child who had been listening to Jesus was moved to mercy and offered Jesus what he had to eat, and Jesus used it to multiply it.

The example of this boy teaches us that it’s up to us to allow God to use our humble and simple lives to help others, with a word, a smile, a piece of bread, or a glass of water. A small miracle.

Let us use our abilities and our goods to share them. The Lord will work in us and in others for the good of all.

Prayer: Divine Spirit, thank you for granting us your power to help others. Do not let indifference close our eyes and ears. Amen.

Misericordia

Juan 6:1 -15

Porque me visteis hambriento y me disteis de comer y sediento y me disteis de beber

Mateo 25:35a

Sin dudar la gente seguía a Jesús por las señales que había hecho.  Jesús estaba cansado, pero les habló a la gente durante mucho tiempo, tanto que llegó la hora de comer y estaban lejos. El Maestro deseaba hacerlo de forma terrenal y pide a sus discípulos que lo ayuden, pero fue en vano, ellos no tenían. Y ahí se produce el milagro:  un niño que había estado escuchando a Jesús fue movido a misericordia y ofrece a Jesús lo que tenía de comida y Jesús la usa para multiplicarla.

El ejemplo de este niño nos enseña que en nosotros está que Dios use nuestras vidas humildes y sencillas para ayudar a otros, con una palabra, una sonrisa, un pedazo este pan o un vaso de agua.  Un pequeño milagro. 

Usemos nuestras capacidades y nuestros bienes para compartirlos.  El Señor obrará en nosotros y en los demás para el bien de todos.

Oración:  Espíritu divino, gracias por concedernos tu poder para ayudar a otros. No dejes que la indiferencia cierre nuestros ojos y nuestros oídos. Amén.
