GOD HAS CONTROL

Esther 4

“Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”

Esther 4:16 (NIV)

Although this book does not directly mention God, its pages are filled with His presence. Esther and Mordecai believed in God’s protection, and because they acted at the right time, God used them to save His people. Although Esther was the queen and shared the king’s wealth and power, her position did not mean she didn’t need God’s protection and wisdom. No human in any political system is secure on their own. It would be foolish to think that wealth or position could make us immune to danger. Freedom comes only from God. When it is within our power to save others, we must do so. God chooses to work through those who are willing to act on His behalf.

Prayer: Beloved Father, guide us on our daily path and in our decision-making. In Jesus’ name, amen.

DIOS TIENE EL CONTROL

Esther 4

Ve y reúne a todos los judíos que se hallan en Susa, y ayunad por mí, y no comáis ni bebáis en tres días, noche y día; yo también con mis doncellas ayunaré igualmente, y entonces entraré a ver al rey, aunque no sea conforme a la ley; y si perezco, que perezca.

Esther 4:16

Si bien el libro de Ester no menciona directamente a Dios, sus páginas están llenas de su presencia. Ester y Mardoqueo creían en la protección de Dios y, debido a que actuaron en el momento adecuado, Dios los usó para salvar a su pueblo. A pesar de que Ester era la reina y compartía algo de la riqueza y del poder del rey, su posición no significaba que no necesitara la protección y la sabiduría de Dios. Ningún humano en ningún sistema político está seguro con su propia fuerza. Es tonto pensar que la riqueza o la posición nos pueden hacer inmunes al peligro. La liberación sólo proviene de Dios. Cuando esté a nuestro alcance salvar a otros, debemos hacerlo. Dios decide obrar por medio de aquellos que están deseosos de actuar para Él.

Oración: Padre amado, guíanos en nuestro caminar diario y en la toma de decisiones, en el nombre de Jesús, amén.
