PROMISES OF LOYALTY

Matthew 25:14-30

‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much.

Matthew 25:21(NRSV)

When I was little, I used to go to the countryside to my maternal grandmother’s house for vacation. It was a wonderful time for me, and I loved being surrounded by nature. There was an anonymous tree right outside the window of the room where I slept, and I would take my afternoon nap while watching its leaves sway in the breeze.

I always wanted to live in a house where I could see a tree from my bedroom window; that was one of my dreams. But I lived in the city, so it was very difficult for me to make that dream come true.

When I first came to know the Lord, I was living in an apartment surrounded by buildings, but within a few months I already had a group of brothers and sisters gathering in the small living room of my home. Four years after opening the doors of my home to serve the Lord, I recognized that God had given me the opportunity to have a spacious house with a large yard for our weekly gathering with my brothers and sisters in faith, and from the two windows in my room, I could see several leafy trees.

I am fully confident that God has not forgotten my dreams. Perhaps the place, the people, and the timing have changed, but my Lord’s purpose and promise have remained faithful.

Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for making your children’s dreams come true. Help us to be as faithful as your promises are. In the name of Jesus, our Elder Brother. Amen

PROMESAS DE FIDELIDAD

Mateo 25:14-30

“Bien, buen siervo y fiel, sobre poco has sido fiel, sobre mucho te pondré”.

Mateo 25:21

De pequeña solía ir al campo a casa de mi abuela materna a pasar las vacaciones. Era un tiempo hermoso para mí y mi deleite era estar rodeada de la naturaleza. En la ventana del cuarto donde dormía había un árbol de anón y mirando moverse sus hojas con el viento dormía mi siesta del mediodía.

Siempre desee vivir en una casa que pudiera contemplar algún árbol desde la ventana de mi cuarto, ese era uno de mis sueños. Pero vivía en la ciudad y, por tanto, me era muy difícil hacer realidad aquel sueño.

Cuando conocí al Señor vivía en un apartamento rodeada de edificios, pero en unos pocos meses ya tenía un grupo de hermanos reuniéndonos en la pequeña salita de mi casa. A los 4 años de abrir las puertas de mi hogar para servir al Señor, reconozco que Dios me ha regalado la oportunidad de tener una casa amplia con un patio espacioso para la reunión semanal con mis hermanos en la fe y, desde las dos ventanas de mi cuarto, diviso varios árboles frondosos.

Confío plenamente en que Dios no se olvidó de mis sueños. Quizás cambió el lugar, las personas y el tiempo; pero el propósito y la promesa de mi Señor se ha mantenido fiel. 

Oración: Gracias Señor porque haces realidad los sueños de tus hijos. Permite que seamos fieles como lo son tus promesas. En el nombre de Jesús, Nuestro Hermano Mayor. Amén
