FROM THE MIND TO THE MOUTH,

FROM THE SPIRIT TO LIFE

1 CORINTHIANS 2:12-16

...This is what we speak,

not in words taught us by human wisdom

 but in words taught by the Spirit…

1 Corinthians 2:13

Have you ever heard about a symptom called aphasia? It deals with the loss of the ability to speak. This condition happens when the message from the brain becomes disconnected from the tongue due to an injury or an infirmity.

A similar spiritual infirmity afflicts many Christians. They’ve known Jesus Christ, but never speak of him. They’re familiar with the divine plan of salvation, but never communicate it to others in a coherent testimony.

This disconnection between understanding and testimony needs to be corrected. If we keep a close communion with God, surely we will communicate the experience of new life in Christ, either with or without words. At times, either out of convenience or spiritual disconnection, we’re used to overlooking the importance of bringing Jesus’ message to others. Only when the believer leans upon the strength of the Holy Spirit and dares to begin anew can he share about Christ in a coherent manner with others.

Let’s take stock of ourselves. Are we transmitting our understanding of Jesus Christ to others? We must place the Gospel message before those who need to hear it. We cannot allow spiritual aphasia to paralize our testimony.

Prayer:  Thank you Lord for your continual presence. Help us to extend the message of the Gospel to others. Amen.

DEL ESPÍRITU A LA VIDA.

1 CORINTIOS 2:12-16

...de lo cual también hablamos, pero no con palabras aprendidas de la sabiduría humana, sino con las que enseña el Espíritu

1 Corintios 2:13

¿Has oído alguna vez hablar de un cuadro clínico que se llama afasia? Es la pérdida de la capacidad para hablar. Este problema surge cuando el mensaje no puede pasar del cerebro a la lengua debido a un daño o una enfermedad.

Una enfermedad espiritual similar aflige a muchos cristianos. Conocen a Jesucristo pero nunca hablan de Él. Están familiarizados con el plan divino de salvación pero nunca lo comunican a otros, con un testimonio coherente.

Se tiene que corregir  esta rotura de conexión entre conocimiento y testimonio. Si mantenemos una estrecha comunión con Dios, de seguro comunicaremos la experiencia de la nueva vida en Cristo, con palabras o sin ellas. A veces por comodidad, o por la desconexión con el Espíritu, solemos pasar por alto la importancia de llevar a otros el mensaje de Jesucristo. Sólo al apoyarse el creyente en el poder del Espíritu Santo y atreverse a comenzar de nuevo, puede compartir acerca de Cristo con otros de una manera coherente.

Evaluémonos. ¿Estamos transmitiendo a otros el conocimiento que tenemos de Jesucristo? Tenemos que mantener el mensaje del evangelio ante aquellos que lo necesitan oír. No podemos dejar que la afasia espiritual paralice nuestro testimonio.

Oración: Gracias Señor, por tu compañía en todo momento. Ayúdanos a transmitir a otros el mensaje del Evangelio.  Amén.
