LET’S GO TO BETHLEHEM

Luke 2:8-20

Glory to God in heaven, and on earth peace among those whom he favors.

Luke 2:14 (CEB)

            At this time of year, we remember the birth of the Messiah in a special way, turning our gaze to Bethlehem, the village of the humble shepherds, and we listen to the angel chorus: Glory to God in the highest!

            It is useful to think about the Child who had no crib other than a manger, and we figure out that over the course of centuries, God has loved and communicated through the humble ones.  Jesus lived in the home of a carpenter. He was humble, and he belonged to the lower social class.  His disciples were shepherds and fishermen. They are still the ones who listen willingly.

            Let’s not forget those, like those shepherds, who are willing to praise and glorify God, to listen to the Good News of salvation: Glory to God in the highest! But they can not be satisfied with the announcement–they must walk to Bethlehem to confirm the news and give testimony to others. 

            This should be our prayer.

 

Prayer:  Thank you, Lord, for the Birth of Jesus. May he be born again in our hearts every day.  Amen.

VAYAMOS HASTA BELEN

Lucas 2:8-20

¡Gloria a Dios en la alturas, y en la tierra paz, buena voluntad para con los hombres!

Lucas 2:14

            En esta época del año en que de manera especial se recuerda el nacimiento del Mesías, volvamos nuestra mirada a Belén, la aldea de los sencillos pastores, y escuchemos  el coro angelical: ¡Gloria a Dios en lo alto!

            Es provechoso pensar en el Niño que no tenía más cuna que un pesebre, y darnos cuenta que Dios en el trascurso de los siglos, ha amado y se ha comunicado con los humildes. Jesús vivió en el hogar de un carpintero. Él era humilde, y pertenecía a la clase humilde. Sus discípulos eran pastores y pescadores. Todavía hay quienes oyen de buena gana.

            No debemos olvidar a quienes, como aquellos pastores, estén dispuestos a alabar y glorificar a Dios, al escuchar las Buenas Nuevas de salvación: ¡Gloria a  Dios en alto! Pero es necesario no solo quedarse en el anuncio, hay que marchar hasta Belén para confirmar y para dar el testimonio a otros.

            Esta debe ser nuestra oración.

 

Oración: Gracias, Señor, por el Nacimiento de Jesús. Permite  que cada día nazca en nuestros corazones. Amén.
