GUIDED BY THE GOSPEL OF JESUS

Ruth 1:17

Where you die, I will die–there will I be buried. May the Lord do thus to me, and more as well, if even death parts me from you!

            The story told in the book of Ruth is very beautiful. When reading it, a sweet reflection inspired by the filial love that united the destiny of those two women remains in us. Undoubtedly, it is a beautiful experience that we know someone loves us to the point of becoming our support. Within the home, civilization  has brought crisis in family relationships. Perhaps it is  due to lack of time, or because of the tensions to which life subjects us, but it is true that many times we are subjected to conflicts and discrepancies that involve us in a break with the beings that we love

            Can our faith help us deal with situations of this kind that cause so much distress? Did our Lord Jesus Christ leave any rules to guide us in these circumstances? Yes, brothers and sisters, our faith can help us: the Gospel of Jesus can teach us. Above all, the Holy Spirit can offer us the best help.

            Let’s not seek the solution by pointing out the mistakes and faults of those around us. Let’s do an analysis based on what we can contribute. Let us be aware of the infallible  method bequeathed to us by the Lord in teaching us the new dimensions of love: we should not be as concerned with being loved as with loving. We cannot be so passionate about waiting to be served, but rather, let us serve passionately.

 

Prayer: May our service, Lord, be as you wish.  Amen

GUIADOS POR EL EVANGELIO DE JESUS

Rut 1:17

Moriré donde tú mueras, y allí quiero ser enterrada. ¡Que el Señor me castigue con toda dureza si me separo de ti, a menos que sea por la muerte!

            Es muy bella la historia narrada en el libro de Rut. Al leerla queda en nosotros una dulce reflexión inspirada en el amor filial que unió el destino de aquellas dos mujeres. Indudablemente que es una experiencia hermosa la que vivimos cuando sabemos que alguien nos ama hasta el punto de convertirse en nuestro apoyo. La civilización ha traído crisis en las relaciones familiares dentro del hogar, quizás por la falta de tiempo. o por las tensiones a que nos somete la vida, pero es cierto que muchas veces nos vemos sometidos a conflictos y discrepancias que nos envuelven en una ruptura con los seres que amamos.

            ¿Puede acaso nuestra fe ayudarnos a enfrentar situaciones de esta índole que provoca tanta aflicción? ¿Nuestro Señor Jesucristo dejó alguna norma para guiarnos en estas circunstancias? Sí, hermanos, nuestra fe puede ayudarnos, el Evangelio de Jesús puede enseñarnos; y sobre todo, el Espíritu Santo puede ofrecernos la mejor ayuda.

            No busquemos la solución señalando  los errores y las faltas de aquellos que nos rodean. Hagamos un análisis sobre la base de lo que podemos aportar nosotros. Tengamos conciencia del método infalible que nos legó el Señor al enseñarnos una nueva dimensión del amor: no deber preocuparnos tanto el ser amados, como el amar. No podemos apasionarnos tanto esperando el ser servidos, sino mas bien, sirvamos apasionadamente.

 

Oración: Que nuestro servicio, Señor, sea como tú lo deseas.  Amén
