Anniversary of the IPR “Prince of Peace” (Caibarién)

WE ARE SAVED BY HIM

John 1:29-34

The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him and declared, “Here is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!”

John 1:29 (NRSV)

            No one can remove evil and all its expressions of destruction and death that affect this world and that come from humanity’s own thinking and behavior.

            (God’s) solution of a flood to create a new humanity didn’t work. Humans continued to be disobedient and rebellious to the Creator’s designs.

            God did change his strategy. God became a missionary and began to call and call humans to repent of their evil. He came to the point of sending his own Son as the Passover Lamb to expiate for and to pardon sin. God did not turn his back on the goal of continuing the call to repentance and change; on the contrary, he raised Jesus to demonstrate what neither death nor any type of evil could defeat.

            In this way recognizing Jesus as the Lamb of God, dead and risen for the forgiveness of our sins, is no longer living in the inevitability of the failure of human justice, but in the certainty of the triumph of God's justice. That is what God calls us to: to give our own life of love, service and solidarity to our neighbors in this world.

 

Prayer: Lord, we thank you today and every day of our lives for the marvelous gift that you gave in delivering your Son Jesus for us. Amen.

Aniversario de la IPR “Príncipe de Paz” (Caibarién)

POR ÉL SOMOS SALVOS

Juan 1:29-34

Al día siguiente, Juan vio a Jesús que se acercaba a él, y dijo: “¡Miren, ese es el Cordero de Dios, que quita el pecado del mundo!”

            Nadie puede quitar la maldad y todas sus expresiones de destrucción y muerte que afectan a este mundo y que provienen del propio pensar y proceder del ser humano.

            La solución del diluvio para crear una nueva humanidad no dio resultado, el  ser humano siguió desobediente y rebelde a los propósitos de su Creador.

            Dios sí cambió de estrategia, se volvió misionero y comenzó a llamar y a llamar al ser humano para que se arrepintiera de su maldad. Llegó al punto de enviar a su propio Hijo como el cordero de la Pascua para expiar y perdonar el pecado. Dios no renuncia a la tarea  de seguir llamando al arrepentimiento y al cambio, sino todo lo contrario, resucita a Jesús para demostrar que ni la muerte ni ningún tipo de maldad lo pueden derrotar.

            De manera que, reconocer a Jesús como el Cordero de Dios, muerto y resucitado para perdón de nuestros pecados, ya no es vivir en la fatalidad del fracaso de la justicia humana, sino en la seguridad del triunfo de la justicia de Dios, que nos llama a entregar nuestra propia vida de amor, en servicio y solidaridad hacia nuestros prójimos en este mundo.

 

Oración: Gracias Señor te damos hoy y todos los días de nuestra vida, por el maravilloso regalo que nos distes al entregar a tu Hijo Jesús por nosotros, amén.
