THE TWO PROPHETS

Ezekiel 36

I will put my spirit within you, and make you follow my statutes and be careful to observe my ordinances.

Ezekiel 36:27 (NRSV)

            Today we are going to talk about two men of faith. Ezekiel and Daniel are two of the most exciting leaders of the Old Testament. Even when they weren’t guilty of the idolatry of the nation of Israel, they suffered the punishment that God imposed on his people. But Ezekiel also reminded them that God was going to take them back to their land. The new heart and the new spirit promised in Chapter 36 recalls for us the new birth that believers experience when they surrender to Christ.

            For his part, we are told of Daniel that he decided not to contaminate himself with the customs of life in the court of the King of Persia. Because Daniel spoke out for God, God was able to use him to influence those around him.

            As you ponder this reading, allow God’s Holy Spirit to strengthen you in your Christian life. The truth in these two books will strengthen and encourage you as you serve God. And these prophecies will help you to prepare for the coming of Christ.

 

Prayer: Lord, give us the spiritual strength that you gave to Ezekiel and Daniel to keep us dialy stronger in faith. Amen.

LOS DOS PROFETAS

Ezequiel 36

Pondré dentro de vosotros mi Espíritu, y haré que andéis en mis estatutos y guardéis mis preceptos, y los pongáis por obra

Ezequiel 36:27

            Vamos a hablar hoy sobre dos hombres de fe. Ezequiel y Daniel son dos de los líderes más emocionantes del Antiguo Testamento. Aun cuando no eran culpables de la idolatría de la nación de Israel, sufrieron el castigo que Dios le impuso a su pueblo. Pero Ezequiel también les hizo recordar que Dios los iba a llevar de regreso a su tierra.

            El nuevo corazón y el nuevo espíritu prometidos en el capítulo 36 nos recuerdan el nuevo nacimiento que los creyentes experimentan cuando se entregan a Cristo. Por su parte, de Daniel se nos dice que decidió que no se contaminaría con las costumbres de la vida en la corte del rey persa. Como Daniel se pronunció a favor de Dios, Dios pudo usarlo para influir en quienes lo rodeaban.

            Mientras medita en esta lectura, permítale a Dios que su Santo Espíritu lo estimule en su vida cristiana. La verdad que hay en estos dos libros lo fortalecerá y alentará a usted mientras sirve a Dios. Y estas profecías le ayudarán a prepararse para la venida de Cristo.

 

Oración: Señor, danos la fortaleza espiritual que les diste a Ezequiel y a Daniel para mantenernos cada día más firmes en la fe.  Amén.
