SOWING AND HOPING
1 Corinthians 3:5-17
So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up.
Galatians 6:9(NRSV)
When I was a girl, we lived on a small farm that my grandparents had in the countryside. One day I planted a handful of mantle seeds around the house. The following week I went out to see if they had sprouted yet. I was used to instant coffee, instant refreshment. Why not instant flowers? Finally resigned to the situation, I abandoned my vigil.
Imagine my surprise when three weeks later I discovered a vine of mantles that had grown up along the house with beautiful flowers. My harvest was accomplished!
So it is with our work for God. Before a seed can grow, it must first be planted. Then the time needed to let it grow must pass. We must be patient and give God the time for his work to make the seed in our hearts grow.
Our faith and patience, together with the work of the Holy Spirit, will give an abundant harvest one day.
Prayer: Beloved Lord, teach me to do your will each day, to plant seeds of goodness and truth in the lives of my neighbors, and then leave to you the work of growth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

SEMBRANDO Y ESPERANDO
1 Corintios 3:5-17
