PEACE

Zechariah 9:9-10

…he will proclaim peace to the nations.

We ask for peace, that for us is so necessary,

like water and fire, earth and air.

 

The peace which is forgiveness, that frees us

from anger and rage, from envy and blood.

 

Peace, which is freedom, life always open,

at home, at the workplace, in the street and in the school.

 

Peace, which is the bread kneaded every day,

which is broken at the table with joy and hunger.

 

Peace, which is the flower of your Kingdom we await,

and which we make more beautiful and nearer each afternoon.

 

We ask you for peace, in ourselves we ask

because we are brothers and you are our Father.

Te pedimos la paz, que nos es tan necesaria

Como el agua y el fuego, y la tierra y el aire

 

La paz que es perdón, que nos libera

De la rabia y la ira, de la envidia y la sangre

 

La paz que es libertad, la vida siempre abierta

En la casa y en la fábrica, en la calle y en la escuela

 

La paz, que es el pan amasado cada día

Que se rompe en la mesa con júbilo y con hambre

 

La paz que es la flor de tu reino que esperamos

Y que hacemos más bello y cercano cada tarde

 

Te pedimos la paz, y a nosotros nos pedimos

Porque somos hermanos y tú eres nuestro Padre
