REPENT TODAY

Ezekiel 33:10-16

Say to them, “As surely as I live,” declares the Sovereign Lord, “I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, people of Israel.”

            Many believe that the Old Testament only shows God’s anger and not his love. But in this chapter of Ezekiel God’s mercy for those enslaved by sin is shown.

            God clearly indicated it wasn’t pleasing to him when he punishes the wicked. God sends no one to condemnation, the unrepentant sinners condemn themselves. Although God reminds the sinners of the terrible consequences awaiting them in eternity, a door remains open upon which is written, “Repent,” God says, “enter through the door and live, why die?” This is God’s question in the time of Ezekiel.

            God continues sending the same message to our time. The way to liberation has been prepared. If people die, it will be because they choose not to respond to a loving God.

 

Prayer: Beloved God, we know that you don’t desire any of your creatures to be lost. Help us, Father, to bring your message of salvation to those who still do not know how great your love is. Amen.

ARREPENTÍOS HOY

Ezequiel 33:10-16

Vivo yo, dice Jehová el Señor, que no quiero la muerte del impío, sino que se vuelva el impío de su camino, y que viva.

Ezequiel 33:11

            Muchos creen que el Antiguo Testamento muestra solamente la ira de Dios y no su  amor. Pero en este capítulo de Ezequiel se muestra la misericordia de Dios para quienes están esclavizados por el pecado.

            Dios indicó claramente que cuando Él castiga a los malvados, eso no le resulta agradable. Dios no envía a nadie a la condenación; los pecadores no arrepentidos se condenan a sí mismos. Aunque Dios les recuerda a los pecadores las terribles consecuencias que le esperan en la eternidad, mantiene abierta una puerta en la que está escrita la palabra arrepiéntanse. Dios dice: Entren por esta puerta y vivan. ¿Por qué moriréis? Es la pregunta de Dios en época de Ezequiel.

            Él sigue dando el mismo mensaje a nuestro tiempo. Se ha preparado la vía de la liberación. Si las personas mueren en el pecado, será porque optan por no responder a un Dios amoroso.

 

Oración: Amado Dios, sabemos que tú no quieres que ninguna de tus criaturas se pierdan. Ayúdanos, Padre, a llevar tu mensaje de salvación a esos que aún no conocen cuán grande es tu amor. Amén.
