OUR LIFE’S TREASURE

Matthew 6: 19-21

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Matthew 6:21 NIV

Everyone should decide sooner rather than later what the maximum value of our life is.  It is not something that is decided only once. We must live deciding, betting on our decision, to walk every day for it. In a world which constantly bombards us with a high tendency toward materialism, one can easily fall into the trap of accumulating treasures on earth.. We are constantly beset with propaganda and priorities set by the big communication platforms, by the elementary needs around us, and by fear. We need to  clearly set the priority of the Kingdom of God that Jesus teaches us in his life. Jesus does not suggest that it is incompatible with the kingdom that one reasonably provides for unforeseen needs, or that we do not have things of value. Where or in what are we placing much value? The text says, your treasure, referring to the sum of what one deems most valuable in one's life.

 

Prayer: Beloved God we want to choose you every day of our lives, to be witnesses of your love, hope, of what it means that you are our treasure. Amen.

EL TESORO DE NUESTRA VIDA

Mateo 6: 19-21

Porque donde esté tu tesoro, allí estará también tu corazón.

Mateo 6:21

Todas las personas deberíamos decidir más temprano que tarde, cuál es el valor máximo de nuestra vida, y no es algo que se decide una sola vez, hay que vivir decidiendo, apostando por nuestra decisión, para caminar cada día a por ello. En un mundo con una alta tendencia materialista, que bombardea constantemente con su propaganda, prioridades establecidas por las grandes plataformas de comunicación, por las necesidades elementales a nuestro alrededor, por los miedos, uno puede caer fácilmente en la trampa de acumular tesoros en la tierra, si no fijamos claramente la prioridad del Reino de Dios que Jesús nos enseña en su vida. Jesús no sugiere que sea incompatible con el reino que uno provea razonablemente para las necesidades imprevistas, o que no tengamos cosas de valor. ¿Dónde o en que estamos depositando mucho valor? Dice el texto, vuestro tesoro, refiriéndose a la suma de lo que uno estima de más valor en su vida.

 

Oración: Amado Dios queremos escogerte cada día de nuestra vida, ser testimonios de tu amor, esperanza, de lo que significa que seas nuestro tesoro. Amén.
