A PLACE IN THE HEAVENS

2 Corinthians 5:6-10

We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and be at home with the Lord. (NIV)

2 Corinthians 5:8

How wonderful it would be to live with the Lord in heaven, a place far from the earthly world!  A beautiful paradise where angels would sing songs to the glory of the Lord.

Today’s reflection tells us to always live confident in the promises of God, because as long as we live in this world we are in the body, that is, we have an earthly body. After we die, we will receive our eternal heavenly body. In fact, this new body will be superior to the earthly body we had before because our earthly bodies are absent from the Lord.

What will be the reasons for this absence that distance us from the presence of God?

             It distances us from God.

             Our lack of faith: sin

             When we don’t read the Bible.

             When we don’t love our neighbor.

             Hatred, greed, selfishness.

All these human miseries make us absent from God and not reaching a place in heaven.

 

Prayer: God of love, mercy and hope, do not walk away from me. In Jesus  Christ. Amen.

UN LUGAR EN EL CIELO.

2 Corintios 5:6-10

Por eso mantenemos siempre la confianza aunque sabemos que mientras vivamos en este cuerpo estaremos alejados  del Señor.

2 Corintios 5:8

¡Qué  maravilloso sería vivir junto al Señor en el cielo, un lugar alejado del mundo terrenal!

Un hermoso paraíso donde los ángeles cantarían cánticos para la gloria del Señor.

La reflexión de hoy nos dice que vivamos confiados siempre en las promesas de Dios, porque mientras vivamos en este mundo estamos en el cuerpo, es decir , tenemos un cuerpo terrestre. Después de morir recibiremos nuestro cuerpo celestial eterno. De hecho ese nuevo cuerpo será superior al cuerpo terrestre que teníamos antes porque nuestros cuerpos terrestres están ausentes del Señor.

¿Cuáles serán las razones de esa ausencia que nos alejan de la presencia de Dios?

            Él nos aleja de Dios.

            Nuestra falta de fe. pecado

            Cuando no leemos la Biblia.

            Cuando no amamos al prójimo.

            El odio, la avaricia, el egoísmo.

Todas estas miserias  humanas nos hacen estar ausentes de Dios y de no alcanzar un lugar en el cielo.

 

Oración: Dios de amor, misericordia y esperanza no te alejes de mí. Por Jesucristo. Amén.
