LOVE GOD AS JESUS LOVES

Mark 12: 28-34

The first is, ‘Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one; you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’

Mark 12:30 (NRSV)

God loved us first! And that should be reason enough for us to love him with everything [our being]. Loving God is the mobilizing action of every practice of common well-being; It is the main avenue to enjoy the experience of God’s Reign.

Jesus of Nazareth inisited on teaching and proclaiming God’s genuine love, especially to his closest followers. Jesus loved the whole and diversity of humanity, the image and likeness of God. Jesus loved God with all his heart, all his soul, all his mind, and all his strength. The most important–more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices–is living in God’s love through good relationships with others as a reflection of love for God himself.

 

Prayer: We want to love you, Lord, first of all in our lives. Thank you for your profound and perfect love! Thank you for giving to us whome you loved–and love–in a special way. We pray in the name of Jesus Christ your Beloved Son. Amen.

AMAR A DIOS COMO AMA JESÚS

Marcos 12: 28-34

Y amarás al señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, y con toda tu alma, y con toda tu mente y todas tus fuerzas. Este es el principal mandamiento.

Marcos 12:30

¡Dios nos amó primero! Y eso debe ser motivo suficiente para que le amemos con todo [nuestro ser]. Amar a Dios es la acción movilizadora de toda práctica de bienestar común; es la acción principal para disfrutar la experiencia de su Reino.

Jesús de Nazaret insistía en enseñar y proclamar, especialmente a sus seguidores más cercanos, el amor genuino de Dios. Jesús amaba al ser humano íntegro y diverso –imagen y semejanza del Dios Trino. Jesús amaba a Dios con todo su corazón, con toda su alma, con toda su mente y con todas sus fuerzas. Lo más importante, más que todos los holocaustos y sacrificios, es vivir en el amor de Dios a través de las buenas relaciones con los demás como reflejo del amor por Dios mismo.

 

Oración: Queremos amarte, Señor, primero que a todo en nuestras vidas. ¡Gracias por tu amor profundo y perfecto! Gracias por regalarnos al que amó –y ama- de una manera especial. Oramos en el nombre de Jesucristo, tu Hijo Amado, Amén.
