YOU DECIDE, YES OR NO

Matthew 5:33-37

All you need to say is simply yes or no; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.  (NIV)

Matthew 5: 37

Sometimes in life we encounter situations that derive from answers, precise and decisive decisions for any of us.

When making decisions we should not do so lightly, without analyzing them or rushing to respond. When Christians decide to follow in the footsteps of the Master, we cannot look back, it is necessary to leave everything and start again.

The text makes it clear that when we say “yes” it must be energetic, confident, without hesitation or reproach. A “yes” with confidence and firmness tells us that we are willing to follow the Master’s teachings. Being disciples of Jesus is a difficult task that does not end until we reach the presence of God.

When we say “yes or no” let’s think about everything that is good for us and discard the bad.

That’s why “yes or no” is up to you.

 

Prayer: Lord, allow me to say “yes” to follow in your footsteps. Amen.

TÚ DECIDES, SI O NO.

Mateo 5:33-37

Cuando ustedes digan “sí” que sea realmente sí y cuando digan no que sea no.

Mateo 5: 37

A veces en la vida nos encontramos situaciones que derivan de respuestas, decisiones precisas y determinantes para cualquiera de nosotros.

Al tomar decisiones, no debemos hacerlo a la ligera, sin analizarlas ni apresurarnos al responder. Los cristianos cuando decidimos seguir las huellas del Maestro no podemos mirar atrás, es necesario dejarlo todo y comenzar de nuevo.

El texto lo deja claro cuando decimos “sí” debe ser enérgico, seguro, sin titubeos ni reproches. Un “sí” con seguridad y firmeza nos dice que estamos dispuestos a seguir las enseñanzas del Maestro, ser discípulos de Jesús es una tarea difícil que no termina hasta que no lleguemos a la presencia de Dios.

Cuando digamos” sí o no” pensemos en todo lo que es bueno para nosotros y desechemos lo malo.

Por eso “sí o no” tú decides.
