FAITHFUL BROTHERS

Romans 12:5

If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it. (NIV)

1 Corinthians 12:26

I was notified of my mother’s illness while serving as pastor at my church. I had to leave the province to be with her. However, there were numerous tasks to attend to at the church before I left.     

Then several brothers and sisters approached me and offered to help me. They took care of everything. I was able to arrive in time to be with my mother. She died a few hours after I arrived. Thanks to those brothers, I was able to be with her in her final minutes.

When I returned to church a few days later, I realized that my tasks had been faithfully fulfilled. And not only that, they had a group praying for our family.

I am grateful for how they showed me their love and supported me during the days that followed. I was always the strong one. This time they insisted that it was their turn. When I was down and in pain, they understood.

 

Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for the incredibly faithful, dedicated sisters and brothers in our family of Faith. Amen.

HERMANOS FIELES

ROMANOS 12:5

Si uno de los miembros sufre, los demás comparten su sufrimiento; y si uno de ellos recibe honor, los demás se alegran con él.

1 Corintios 12:26

Mientras servía en mi Iglesia al frente de la misma, me avisaron de la enfermedad de mi madre. Tenía que salir de la provincia para poder estar con ella. Sin embargo, había numerosas tareas que atender en la Iglesia antes de salir.

Entonces varios hermanos y hermanas se me acercaron y se ofrecieron a ayudarme. Se hicieron cargo de todo. Pude llegar a tiempo para estar con mi madre. Ella murió unas horas después de yo llegar. Gracias a esos hermanos pude estar con ella en sus últimos minutos.

Al regresar a la Iglesia unos días después, me di cuenta de que mis tareas habían sido cumplidas fielmente. Y no sólo eso, tenían un grupo orando por nuestra familia.

Estoy agradecida por cómo ellos me mostraron su amor y me apoyaron durante los días siguientes. Yo siempre era la fuerte. Esta vez insistieron en que era su turno. Cuando estuve decaída y llena de dolor, ellos comprendieron.

 

Oración: Gracias, Señor, por las hermanas y hermanos increíblemente, fieles, dedicados en nuestra familia de Fe. Amén.

COMPASSION

Philippians 2:3-4

Not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. (NIV)

Philippians 2:4

Sometimes, those of us who collaborate in different areas or ministries in our churches have days full of planned tasks, and others that add up unexpectedly. No matter how much we try to get ahead the day before, many times we are pressured by chores.

So, sometimes in those moments of rush, hurry and agony to fulfill a plan or need, we find other brothers and sisters who stop us and start talking about situations, about their days, about other agonies. There I see the presence of God.

Although the lack of time can frustrate us, it is in these times that God speaks to us so that we stop and pause and listen to the other who comes needing understanding and compassion in difficult moments, and together, we try to understand and find a solution, or contribute good actions to such needs.

 

Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for those who meet us along the way. Thank you for the love and education. Amen.

COMPASIÓN

FILIPENSES 2:3-4

Cada uno debe velar no sólo por sus propios intereses sino también por los intereses de los demás

Filipenses 2:4

A veces quienes colaborar, sirviendo en las iglesias, en diferentes áreas o ministerios, tienes los días llenos de tareas planificadas y otras que se suman inesperadamente. No importa cuánto se trate de adelantar el día antes, muchas veces estamos presionados en los quehaceres.

Entonces a veces en esos momentos de apuro, de prisa y agonía por cumplir con un plan o necesidad, nos encontramos con otras hermanos y hermanos que nos detienen y se ponen a conversar, de situaciones, de sus días, de otras agonías , diferentes. Ahí veo la presencia de Dios.

Aunque la falta de tiempo nos puede frustrar, en esto Dios nos habla para que nos detengamos y hagamos una pausa y escuchemos al otro y la otra que llegan necesitando comprensión, compasión en momentos difíciles y tratar juntos de entender y buscar solución, o aportar acciones de bien a tales necesidades.

 

Oración: Gracias, Señor, por aquellos que nos encuentran en el camino. Gracias por el amor y la dedicación. Amén.

PEACE OF MIND

Isaiah 38:17

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you. (NIV)

Isaiah 26:3

I can’t sleep tonight. I just toss and turn. The decisions I have to make interrupt my sleep. I’m worried about so many things.

So, I pull back the sheet and get up. I go to the living room, turn on the light. And then I open the Bible; and I also open my heart to hear what God is going to say to me.

It seems as if there is no peace in this world. Everywhere, even around me, I see destruction, sin, injustice, and pain. Is it possible to free ourselves from these things that overwhelm us? I want to do the Father’s will, but sometimes I can’t.    

Then I remember God’s word, and his peace comes to me: I give you my peace. Rest in me. I take care of you.

 

Prayer: Touch my mind, Lord, touch my heart. Thank you for giving me your peace. Amen.

PAZ PARA MI MENTE

ISAIAS 38:17

Al de carácter firme lo guardarás en perfecta paz, porque en ti confía.

Isaías 26:3

Esta noche no puedo dormir. Solo doy vueltas en la cama. Las decisiones que debo tomar interrumpen mi sueño. Me preocupan muchas cosas.

Así que aparto la sábana y me levanto. Voy a la sala, enciendo la luz y abro la Biblia; y también abro mi corazón para escuchar lo que Dios me va a decir.

Pareciera que no hay paz en este mundo. Por todas partes, incluso a mi alrededor, veo destrucción, pecado, injusticias y dolor. ¿Es posible liberarse de estas cosas que nos abruman? Quiero hacer la voluntad del Padre, pero a veces no lo logro.

Entonces recuerdo la palabra de Dios y viene su paz a mí: Te doy mi paz. Descansa en mí. Yo te cuido.

 

Oración: Toca mi mente, Señor, toca mi corazón. Gracias por darme tu paz. Amén.
