Let us speak about justice

Psalm 118: 19-20

We cannot speak of building the Kingdom of God without having a total vocation for justice. This not only means being just in our daily actions, but also implies a total confrontation with all acts of injustice and being at the side of those who today are victims of unjust treatment.

Closing our eyes, looking the other way, being silent, not listening, being indifferent to the claims for justice of any human being inevitably delays the Kingdom of God in our lives, in our places and in our land. Today we need those people who are followers of Jesus and who work every day so that his ethical proposal is the one that reigns in this world, to have the will and coherence necessary to confront every act that limits the life of other people. This not only means being part of the greater just causes of this world, but also implies that, in our daily life, we are able to be defenders of justice wherever we are and do it not by mandate, but by vocation and conviction that this is what God demands and needs from each and every one of us.

 

Prayer: Give me the courage and wisdom to never remain silent in the face of injustice. Amen.

Hablemos de justicia

Salmo 118: 19-20

No podemos hablar de la construcción del Reino de Dios sin tener una vocación total por la justicia. Esto, no solo significa ser justas y justos en nuestras acciones cotidianas, sino, que implica un enfrentamiento total a todo acto de injusticia y estar al lado de quienes hoy son víctimas de tratos injustos.

Cerrar los ojos, mirar para otro lado, hacer silencios, no escuchar, ser indiferentes a los reclamos por justicia de cualquier ser humano retrasa inevitablemente el Reinado de Dios en nuestras vidas, en nuestros lugares, en nuestra tierra. Hoy necesitamos que aquellas personas que son seguidoras de Jesús y trabajan día a día para que su propuesta ética sea la que reine en este mundo, tenga la voluntad y coherencia necesarias para enfrentar todo acto que limite la vida de otras personas. Esto no solo significa ser parte de las grandes causas justas de este mundo, sino, que implica que, en nuestra vida cotidiana, podamos ser defensores de la justicia donde quiera que estemos y hacerlo no por mandato, sino por vocación y convicción de que eso es lo que exige y necesita Dios de cada una y cada uno de nosotros.

 

Oración: Dame el valor y la sabiduría suficientes para nunca callar frente a las injusticias. Amén.
