WHAT IS MEANT BY GOD’S REIGN?

Luke 4: 38-44

But he said to them, “I must proclaim the good news of the kingdom of God to the other cities also . . . .

Luke 4:43 (NRSV)

This text presents us a scene where Jesus heals not only Simon’s mother-in-law, but also other sick people who were brought to him that they might be healed. Perhaps not all of us have the possibility and the opportunity like Jesus to cure a disease, but we can do something to heal a wound.

Right here is the key to understand “God’s Reign” not only as a proclamation, but also as an action that frees us from evil and surrounds us with health and life. It’s our turn to continue the path of healing, through service and constant accompaniment with others.

Let’s be happy and caring people in responding to this call, for in this way we may show other people that another world, another reign, another way of understanding “LIFE” is possible.

 

Prayer: Lord, I ask you to help me be that instrument that heals others of their wounds, and in doing that they may understand the meaning of God’s Reign. Amen.

¿QUÉ SIGNIFICA VIVIR EL REINO DE DIOS?

LUCAS 4: 38-44

… pero Jesús les dijo: «Dios me ha enviado a anunciar a todos las buenas noticias de su Reino»…

Lucas 4:43

En texto nos presenta una escena donde Jesús sana, no solo a la suegra de Simón, sino también a otros enfermos que le traían para que fuesen sanados. Quizás no todos tenemos la posibilidad y la oportunidad como Jesús para curar una enfermedad, pero sí podemos hacer algo para que sane una herida.

Justo ahí está la clave, entender el “Reino de Dios” no solo como una proclamación, sino también como una acción que nos libera del mal y nos acerca a la sanidad y a la vida. Nos toca continuar el camino de la sanidad, a través del servicio y el acompañamiento constante con los demás.

Seamos personas felices y solidarias en responder a este llamado, para así, mostrarles a otras personas que otro mundo, otro reinado, otra manera de entender la “VIDA” es posible.

 

Oración: Señor, te pido que me ayudes a ser ese instrumento que sane a otras personas de sus heridas, y que, al hacerlo, comprendan lo que significa vivir el Reino de Dios. Amén.
