WOMEN ARE ALWAYS PRESENT

Luke 8: 1-3

How gratifying it is to read the names of women in the Bible! In a society where they were nothing, reading these names and where they came from, shows us how much, from different positions and social status, they committed themselves to the proclamation of Jesus’ message of hope.

He brought the Good News to the people. He healed illnesses and transformed lives. For this he needed the kindness of women and their great humility. They contributed with him and assisted him. Today, when there are still spaces where women are not recognized, many put their lives at the service of the church, spreading the Word of God to the world. They assume responsibilities at all levels: as part of the congregation’s membership, in the different judicatories or as representatives in international organizations. God grant that we may continue to tell the story, always recognizing the role of women.

 

Prayer: Thank you God, for the work of so many women throughout history. May we recognize them in the proclamation of the Gospel in all places. Amen.

LAS MUJERES SIEMPRE PRESENTES

LUCAS 8: 1-3

…también Juana, esposa de Cuza…, y Susana, y muchas otras que les ayudaban con lo que tenían.

¡Qué gratificante resulta leer nombres de mujeres en la Biblia! En una sociedad donde no eran nada, leer estos nombres y su procedencia, nos muestra cuanto, desde diferentes posiciones y estatus social, se comprometieron con el anuncio del mensaje esperanzador de Jesús.

Jesús hizo de la enseñanza y la predicación del Evangelio, su estilo de vida. Constantemente llevaba las Buenas Nuevas a las personas. Sanaba enfermedades y transformaba vidas. Para ello necesitó de la bondad de las mujeres y de su gran humildad, éstas contribuían con Él y le asistían. Hoy, cuando aún, existen espacios donde las mujeres no son reconocidas, muchas ponen su vida al servicio de la iglesia, esparciendo el mundo la Palabra de Dios. Asumen responsabilidades en todos los niveles: formando parte de la feligresía de una congregación, en las diferentes judicaturas o como representes en organizaciones internacionales. Dios permita que podamos continuar contando la historia, reconociendo siempre el rol de las mujeres.

 

Oración: Gracias, Dios, por la labor de tantas mujeres a lo largo de la historia. Permítenos reconocerles en el anuncio del Evangelio en todos los espacios. Amén.
