THE TRANSFIGURATION OF JESUS.

Luke 9, 28-36

 A voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.”

The Transfiguration is one of the key episodes in the life of Jesus, described as a dazzling light, normally unsustainable for the human gaze, and which symbolizes the divine presence.

Jesus shows his friends what is inside his heart; he wants to give them the splendor of truth and his love. Going up to the heights in an incessant search for God, implies that we can bring out the best in ourselves. This is only possible through prayer. A voice is heard, the word is for the disciples: Listen to him! The call is today for you, for me, for everyone.

The Transfiguration of Jesus is a beautiful illustration of what we are called to live, when we take out from within everything that is not of God and imitate Jesus. Let us listen to the Son of God, because his word is eternal life.

Prayer: God, give us the grace of your presence. Allow us not only to listen to you, but also to be doers of your word, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

A TRANSFIGURACIÓN DE JESÚS.

Lucas 9, 28-36

Y vino una voz desde la nube, que decía: Este es mi hijo amado; a él oíd.

La transfiguración, es uno de los episodios claves en la vida de Jesús, descrito como luz fulgurante, normalmente insostenible para la mirada humana, y que simboliza la presencia divina.

Jesús muestra a sus amigos lo que hay en el interior de su corazón, quiere regalarles el esplendor de la verdad y de su amor. Subir a lo alto en una búsqueda incesante de Dios, implica que podamos sacar lo mejor de nosotros mismos. Esto solo es posible a través de la oración. Se escucha una voz, la palabra es para los discípulos: ¡A él oíd! El llamado es hoy para ti, para mí, para todos.

La transfiguración de Jesús es una hermosa ilustración de lo que estamos llamados a vivir, cuando sacamos de adentro todo lo que no sea de Dios e imitamos a Jesús. Escuchemos al hijo de Dios, porque su palabra es vida eterna.

Oración: Dios, danos la gracia de tu presencia. Permite que no solo te escuchemos, sino que también seamos hacedores de tu palabra, por Jesucristo nuestro, Señor. Amén.
