THE ONE WHO DOESN’T LISTEN TO ADVICE….

Jeremiah 17, 5-10

Happy are those who trust in the Lord, who rely on the Lord.

Jeremiah 17:7(CEB)

There is a popular saying that says: “The one who does not listen to advice will not grow to be an old person.” What does Jeremiah say to us on the other side? That we should trust in the Lord and put our hope in the Lord, and not in men, because these can betray us and take us away from the path of goodness.

What to do? To whom should we listen? Is it bad that we have friends? No, it is not bad that we have friends, it is not bad that we look for advice, relief, company and support from those who are around us. It is part of life and Christian practice. At the same time, Jeremiah talks about putting our total trust in God, because God will send good fruit and we will always have a home to go to–our refuge, strength and salvation. Let us put our hope in the Lord. The Lord is the one who knits the web of our paths, the fount of living water and abundant life.

Prayer: Beloved Divinity, guide our path, give us the strength and hope that we need to follow you and worship you. Amen.

QUIEN NO OYE CONSEJOS…

Jeremías 17, 5-10

Bendito el hombre que confía en el Señor y en él pone su esperanza.

Jeremías 17:7

Hay un refrán popular que dice: “Quien no oye consejos, no llega a viejo”. ¿Qué nos dice Jeremías por otro lado? Que confiemos en el Señor y en Él pongamos nuestra esperanza, y no en los hombres, porque estos pueden traicionarnos y apartarnos del camino del bien.

¿Qué hacer? ¿A quiénes debemos de escuchar? ¿Está mal que tengamos amigos? No, no está mal que tengamos amigos, no está mal que busquemos consejo, alivio, compañía y apoyo en quienes están a nuestro lado. Es parte de la vida y de nuestra práctica como cristianos y cristianas. A su vez, Jeremías nos habla de poner nuestra total confianza en Dios, porque de Él vendrán buenos frutos y tendremos un hogar al que acudir siempre, nuestro refugio, fortaleza y salvación. Pongamos nuestra Esperanza en el Señor. Él es quien teje la red de nuestras sendas, es la fuente de agua viva y la vida en abundancia.

Oración: Amada Divinidad, guía nuestro camino, danos la fortaleza y la esperanza que necesitamos para seguirte y adorarte. Amén.
