PROMISE AND FAITH

Romans 4, 13. 16-18. 22

“The promise to Abraham and to his descendants, that he would inherit the world, didn’t come through the law but through the righteousness that comes from faith”

Romans 4:13(CEB)

In the book of Genesis, God promises Abraham that he will be the father of all nations and that his descendents will be blessed forever. And God fulfilled the promise that God made with Abraham, not because Abraham obeyed the laws of God, but because of his faith.

Even in the midst of difficulties and fears he maintained an unbreakable faith, to the point of being willing to sacrifice his son Isaac, when he and Sarah, with their advanced age, had achieved the possibility of having descendents.

How great is our faith? Do we trust that God will be with every one of us, including in the midst of pain, sadness and discouragement? Do we believe that great things will come for our nation? Are we open to trust in the process and make changes in our lives, taking risks?

Prayer: My God, our God, thank you for every morning and for the promise of a better new day. In you we trust, Amen.

LA PROMESA Y LA FE

Romanos 4, 13. 16-18. 22

“Hermanos: La promesa que Dios hizo a Abraham y a sus descendientes, de que ellos heredarían el mundo, no dependía de la observancia de la ley, sino de la justificación obtenida mediante la fe”.

Romanos 4:13

En el libro de Génesis, Dios le promete a Abraham que este sería el padre de todas las naciones y que su descendencia quedaría bendecida para siempre. Y Dios cumplió el pacto que hizo con Abraham, no porque este obedeció las leyes de Dios, sino por su fe.

Abraham aun en medio de las dificultades, de los temores mantuvo inquebrantable su fe, al punto de estar dispuesto a sacrificar a su hijo Isaac, cuando ya Sarah y él, con avanzada edad, habían logrado tener descendencia.

¿Qué tan grande es nuestra fe? ¿Confiamos en que Dios está con cada uno de nosotros, incluso en medio del dolor, la tristeza y desesperanza? ¿Creemos que grandes cosas vendrán para nuestra nación? ¿Estamos abiertos a confiar en el proceso y hacer cambios en nuestras vidas, tomar riesgos?

Oración: Mi Dios, nuestro Dios, gracias por cada amanecer y por la promesa de un nuevo día mejor. En ti confiamos, Amén.
