FULFILLMENT OF THE LAW IS LOVE

Matthew 5: 17 - 19

“Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.”

Matthew 5: 17 (NIV)

Jesus luminously declares that he has not come to abolish the Law or the Prophets, but rather to fulfill them. The Law, which represents the will of God for his people, is not discarded; it is found in its perfect fulfillment in the person of Christ.

Jesus is the perfect model of how to fulfill the Law through love and service. He not only taught about love, but he lived it every moment. By healing the sick, feeding the hungry and forgiving sinners, Jesus showed that fulfillment of the Law is manifested in concrete actions of service. He calls us to follow his example, serving others with a willing and loving heart. Fulfilling the Law out of love requires an inner transformation.

Prayer: Beloved God, we ask you to help us to understand that true fulfillment of the Law is not found in mere observance of rules, but in the love and service we must offer to others. Amen.

EL CUMPLIMIENTO DE LA LEY ES EL AMOR

Mateo 5: 17 - 19

No crean ustedes que yo he venido a suprimir la Ley o los profetas; no he venido a ponerles fin, sino a darles su pleno valor.

Mateo 5: 17

Jesús declara con luminosidad que no ha venido a abolir la Ley o los Profetas, sino a cumplirlos. La Ley, que representa la voluntad de Dios para su pueblo, no es desechada; en cambio, se encuentra en su cumplimiento perfecto en la persona de Cristo.

Jesús es el modelo perfecto de cómo cumplir la Ley a través del amor y el servicio. Él no solo enseñó sobre el amor, sino que lo vivió en cada momento. Al sanar a los enfermos, alimentar a los hambrientos y perdonar a los pecadores, Jesús mostró que el cumplimiento de la Ley se manifiesta en acciones concretas de servicio. Nos llama a seguir su ejemplo, sirviendo a los demás con un corazón dispuesto y amoroso.  Cumplir la Ley desde el amor requiere una transformación interior.

Oración: Amado Dios, te pedimos que nos ayudes a comprender que el verdadero cumplimiento de la Ley no se encuentra en la mera observancia de reglas, sino en el amor y el servicio que debemos ofrecer a los demás. Amén.
